It’s the ‘little’ things…

Well, we got Lawdog back to blogging, so score one for us…

Peter and Dot are getting settled, and we’re getting into a routine amongst the group.

I don’t mind cooking, and I’ve actually cooked more in the last month than I probably did in the last six months. One of the best things?

NO LEFTOVERS! 🙂 And I’m not eating the same thing four days in a row… Yea!

Finally got my DL sorted out and now have one that says veteran on it, to go with my retired plate.

And I’ve determined what is going to be my exercise in futility here. It’s keeping the #(*% leaves out of the garage… sigh…

Swept it out this morning, walked to the back of the garage to put the broom up, looked around and there were MORE leaves than I’d just swept out. It’s going to be a never ending battle, that I know I’m going to lose, but I’m going to keep trying…

The problem is the prevailing winds ‘catch’ the corner of the garage just right, dammit!

In the YGTBSM category, we’re about out of Precision Guided Munitions (PGMs) along with Tomahawk cruise missiles and various other missiles. BO has blocked, obfuscated or otherwise ignored contract renewals for weapons to the point that about the only thing left in the bunkers is the MK-82 Mod-0 dumb bombs…

And the Pentagon has finally called him on it.

President Barack Obama will ask Congress next week to approve $1.8 billion to buy 45,000 new bombs.

Full article HERE.

The irony is, there is STILL no contract for any missiles… And rumor has it, we’re deep in the war reserve on most of what’s left.

And another one, apparent Hildabeast ‘won’ the Iowa caucus by winning SIX coin flips in SIX different precincts… One wonders where/how she smuggled the two headed coin in…

The really scary part is the Dems are down to her and Bernie. How in hell did it come to this???

On the good news side, if you’re a CMP member or member of an affiliated club, they DO have ammo, including .22 in stock now, and the prices are ‘reasonable’… HERE!

  1. I don’t know how Democrats can look themselves in the mirror. They used to hold Nixon as why Republicans should not be trusted in office. Hillary is the BEST they can do ? Really ? A person who is currently under investigation by the FBI is a choice ?

One thing Sanders does do is be honest. He doesn’t try to hid the fact he is socialist (If all of us can’t be rich, we can be poor together. Really needs that Howard Dean ‘yeaaahhh’ screech to complete the package :^) I don’t know if the kids that make up most of his supporters realize what socialism is.

  2. Garage leaves. Maybe a small surplus jet engine hooked up to a leaf sensor and the garage door opener so it would function automatically. What could possibly go wrong?

And as the snow cover begins to go away, a note for next year to add snowblower stakes in the back to mark the path from the shed to the front. Using the snowblower to find solar lights might not be the best use of the machine.

  3. Leaves don’t matter much.
I opened my garage this morning and a foot of snow fell in.
You know,I really like the Galveston area but I just paid the survey on my land in the Philippines.
Two more years to make up my mind.
    Hymie

  4. We don’t need no stinking bombs. Obie will just set down and negotiate a peaceful surrender by turning over the countries remaining capital and sign off on more debt to them while opening nationally funded mosque’s in every state.

  5. Getting Lawdog blogging again is worth considerably more than one point…

  6. j.r.- Gotta agree with all… And I don’t think the kids have a CLUE!

John- Ouch! Yeah, glad those are fairly cheap lights… Not good on the snowblower though. You need some of those snow poles! 🙂

Hymie- Yep, true! That will be a hard decision. Both have hurricanes/typhoons, but I think Galveston has the more stable government… 🙂

CP- Dammit, I just snorted coffee over your comment… 🙂

ES- Thank you, and we’re glad he’s back too!

  7. Re. coin toss: The Des Moines Register explains that one of the coin tosses came from precinct 2-4 in Ames, where “60 caucus participants apparently disappeared from the proceedings.”

Shit! If I wanted to live in a Banana Republic I’d move to Panama. At least the weather is better.

  8. OTOH, CMP sold out of M1 Carbines in about 10 minutes. Certainly before most knew they were getting them in…

Oh, and Obama wants DOD to “… to conduct or sponsor research into gun safety technology that would reduce the frequency of accidental discharge or unauthorized use of firearms, and improve the tracing of lost or stolen guns. Within 90 days, these agencies must prepare a report outlining a research-and-development strategy designed to expedite the real-world deployment of such technology for use in practice.”

  9. We also have that “more leaves come in than go out” garage style. I’ve worn out two straw brooms whilst keeping debris mostly outside.

The Dems don’t even pretend to look the other way for their rampant & ongoing voter fraud. It’s truly infuriating.

  10. I have a neighbor who built a garage door screen to keep the leaves out. Basically just a wood frame with screen material stapled to it. His is only 2′ high. He can either leave the garage door all the way up or lower it to the top of the screen. He used 2x2s for the frame so it’s light enough for one person to move. When he wants to close the door all the way he just leans the screen against the wall out of the way.

  11. I didn’t even realize we could get the Veteran designator on the DL. Now I’ll have to figure out which “safe place” I stored my DD-214 in…

  12. You finally chased the Dog’ back to his blog? Miracle worker!

As for the bomb shortage, we should have plenty of nukes left…

  13. What’s wrong with MK82s? I loaded them on A37s by the ton in 1971.

  14. Open garage door, start suv, rev engine, leaves gone… not sure where, but they aren’t visible anymore.

  15. I visited the link (not that I can afford anything) and it states they are no longer accepting orders for .22 ammo.
    Sorry.

    gfa

  16. “We are now being advised, as in the case of Aguila .22, that it may take several years to receive all of the 35,000,000 rounds of Aguila ammo we have on order.”

    Wow.

  17. All- Thanks for the comments. Tim, interesting idea! 🙂 Donin- 1971… Now 2015… Same bombs… sigh
