  1. Well, my uncle and dad would say Go Air Force and Go Army! That Navy stuff is for fish. 🙂 I myself say Go 4-H!

Not really. Thanks for your service.

  2. Probably a sea story but, an fficer was inspecting enlisted berthing, and noticed a young sailor with his feet up on the table.
The officer asked the sailor, “Do you put your feet up on the table when you are home?” The sailor answered, “Of course not, at home airplanes don’t land on take off from the roof of the house.”
During a twenty five year active and reserves enlisted career, my one and only cat shot came as a Navy Yard civilian.
C2A Greyhound, starboard bow cat, USS Kennedy 1995. What a ride!

  3. Can’t wait to show this one to Dad ’cause Army Air Corp then Chair force. Redeemed by brother flying Navy.

  4. It takes a particular type of pilot to land on a moving object. I’ve always been an admirer of those who’ve done it.

  5. Fargo- LOL, if you don’t do it ‘right’, you DO feed the fish… 🙂

Bob- Especially at night, when the roof is moving!

    John- Too funny!

Dammit- LOL, I’ll be interested to hear his comment!

    Rev- Yep!

  6. Thank-you to all The Navy Fliers past, present and future. You are a special breed. Especially Thank-you for your service.

  7. There was a British pilot who transitioned from CATOBAR to Harriers who said, “It’s much easier to stop the plane then land on the ship than the opposite order.”

  8. Always felt landing on a moving target must be the next hardest thing to hovering a helicopter in a gusty, variable, 30-kt wind.
The inter-service rivalry is, and has always been healthy.
(Wish I’d had the chance to get “shot”.)

  9. Fly Navy always reinforced a motto our Corpsman never shut up about…
