Globull Warming My Ass…

THIS is as of 0900 this morning at my house…

Measured 12 inches since midnight, by 1300 it was 15 inches and it’s STILL snowing!

sigh…

I’m too old to be out shovelling snow, and of course NONE of the neighborhood kids want to earn any money…

All us old farts were out and jokingly, kinda sorta, decided we needed a 55 gal barrel fire in the middle of the street just to warm up to…

In other news, it appears the Dems bought Sen Nelson’s vote…

Hey Senator, what was the size of YOUR Bribe???

Bet it was higher than sleazebag Landrieu… $500 Mil, or higher???

Inquiring minds want to know!!!

The sad part of this snowfall, is the merchants are the ones that will suffer, as this is one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year, and at least here in the NOVA, DC area only fools are getting out today unless it is an emergency.

IF you’ve gotta shovel, remember- Good body position, take regular breaks, don’t try to do too much… Thankfully this is light fluffy snow, not the ‘heart attack’ snow…

Now back to your regularly scheduled shovelling…

  1. Up by me, in the Sierra Nevada mountains, it’s usually “Sierra Cement” — the kind that weighs 45 pounds in your grain hog. Sheesh, at 60 I thought I’d be over that stuff and, like you, watching some young neighbor kid shoveling. Nope. N.I. Not Interested.

Christ, I need some more Brown Ice, brotha.

  2. Look at the bright side , the storm means that DC should be pretty well gridlocked and I will take that anytime .

  3. 20″ by 7:00 PM here. Looks like another few more before it finishes. At least the Suburban Assault Vehicle only got stuck once (in my driveway).

WV: “permabs” What you get if you shovel enough snow…

  4. I’m sitting in my lounge room with a fan blowing on me and i’m sweating – so feeling a bit jealous about the snow 🙂 BUT as we’re planning to have lunch at a local winery soon it I’m sure the feeling will pass!

Stay warm and safe 🙂 Hope you’ve got a good book or two to read – or are there guns that need cleaning?

  5. I would think that with a 5 year timeline before the polar ice caps are completely melted (RE: AlGore), we’d be seeing some peculiar changes in the way weather forms with changes in the solstice. It’s sorta funny that we’re not seeing any of that at all! Perhaps it’s all gonna happen at the close of year 4?

    Liberals Have NOTHING!

  6. Kind of liking the Antelope Valley. It may get cold at night but the snow is up high.
And can I hurt those lousy, no good, shit sucking, dirt bag, maggots? Please, Please?

  7. Oh-oh, there’s a PO on deck.
NFO, you handle this, I’m Army.

    Skul

  8. From Another Old Retired MCPO, Can I help with the extermination of the aforementioned %$&*#$!

WV: cater, what the Libtard demo’s have done with their boughten votes. VOTE FOR NO INCUMBENTS IN ’10,’12,’14!!!!

  9. The kids and I are very unhappy that you didn’t share some of your snow with us. We’re not greedy, just 2-4 inches would be great. That’s enough to keep most Georgian’s at home (except the Y’all-Watch-This-Shit crowd), close most businesses for a day, etc… I reckon we’d be calling the National Guard in if we had your kind of snowfall.

Anyway, quit shoveling and go out and build a snowman. It will make you feel better, I promise. 😉

  10. All anybody needs to see to know the real truth on global warming is free for all to see on NASA’a on website. Look at the satellite imagery of snow coverage, and global aerosol coverage. The snow coverage goes back to 2000, and the aerosol depth to 2005. If you compare snow coverage from say February 2009, to the same month in 2000, the difference is obvious, and stunning; much more snow coverage in ’09, than 2000.
As for the aerosol depth, which shows suspended particulate matter; soot, dust, ash, etc. some manmade, some naturally occurring, there is very little concentration over North America. Yet, America is expected to shoulder the burden of paying to “fix” a problem, that does not exist!

  11. BZ- Heard that!

Paw- I’m plenty warm after shoveling!

    FD- No such luck…dammit…

WSF- Not hide nor hair of kids yesterday or today. sigh…

New- Yep, especially since NONE of us up here have snow blowers!

    Julie- shaddap.. 🙂

RWL- See Andrew’s comment below- There IS NO IMPACT ON THE ICE PACK!

ORPO- Up to me, I’d say go for it… I’m planning on hurting them in 2010 at the ballot box.

Skul- Got it 🙂 Us Sailors gotta hang together ya know…

    Ev- Agreed!

Snigs- Come on up, you can have all you want!

Andrew- You are correct Sir, and also the polar caps are back to full size too!

  12. Checking up om my CPO son in New London since the snow hit them hard, and instead he’s hitting the snow hard in Vermont!

I thought Burris was gonna hold out for a bribe. I was rather counting on him.

  13. It’s too bad none of the kids wanted to make money. My brother got home from UDel friday and made $100 shoveling saturday.

WV: salin – what I’d rather be doing. Can’t wait to get back out on the water come spring.
