It’s snowing in places they can’t even SPEL snow… Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina- And getting record snow falls. Everybody jokes about DC drivers in the snow, can you imagine Atlanta or Dallas in the snow??? I don’t EVEN want to think about it…

Muslem leaders claim that body scanners violates muslim standards of decency. At airports, they will have the option of bypassing the scanner and getting a hand inspection.The irony here is that the only reason we need these scanners is because of the radical muslims and they will be allowed to opt out!!!
And now the gun debate on campus will start ALL over again… Now those that want to arm professors/teachers will have this thrown in their faces… sigh…

Well, I’ve been home a whole two days, it’s time to leave again, so back on the road tomorrow… Blogging/reading/chatting will be light as long days will be the norm for the next week or so.
No snow here, but enough is enough.

A few years ago, I was working a ballast train north of the DFW metromess. It was winter. And sure enough the precipitation hit with the ice/freezing rain first. Then the snow cover. You do not want to be south of the Red River during this. At least in the Arbuckle Mountains of OK along I-35 there is an understanding of winter. But south of the Red River, anything that resembles understanding simply vanishes.
I hear that Monterrey, MX had a dusting of snow too.
Some years ago, I was in San Antonio in a high-rise overlooking IH410 when a sudden snow storm hit. Those of us from the more northern climes almost split a gut laughing an the people entering an off-ramp at 60mph and expecting to be able to stop at the bottom.

I’m not going to comment on the body scanners. It’ll just get my blood pressure up.
I noticed you didn’t include Georgia on the list of places receiving snow that could not spell it.

Yeah, the world is getting stranger and stranger every day. Muslims allowed to opt out of scanning at the airport,and a liberal professor who has killed again because another liberal.
