Sadly, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot yesterday along with 18 others by 22 year old man ( I will not put his name up and give him any credibility).

Rep. Giffords is in an induced coma, but apparently the prognosis is good at this time. Credit for saving her and the others lives MUST go to the first responders on site, who did a superb job in what was basically a mass casualty ‘drill’. Police, EMS, Fire and bystanders got the situation under control quickly. Among others a 74 year old retired Col Bill Badger, who was shot in the back of the head, assisted in subduing the perp until police arrived.
UMC Trauma also did an outstanding job of triage, although sadly the 9 year old girl could not be saved.
What pisses me off are the media biases that started up within MINUTES of the initial report of the shooting- He was a left wing wacko, he was a right wing wacko, he was associated with THIS group or THAT group; he was/is a mental patient HOW DID HE GET A GUN, BAN ALL GUNS; to it was a STRAW PURCHASE, yada, yada, yada…
This ‘should’ be a time we are all pulling together for those who were killed and injured, not trying to foist the blame on the ‘other’ side, as the Pima County Sheriff is doing…
Personally, I believe we will, like Cho at VT, find this perp slipped through the system, purchased the gun legally, passed the NICS checks etc…
Probably because he was ‘protected’ by the system, just my guess…
I say stop the rhetoric, wait until the investigations are complete, THEN take a look (without biases) at what went wrong, and look at fixing the issue BEFORE enacting any more laws.
Sadly I fear that will not happen…

Sadly, in all groups left,right,middle,up or down, there will always and has always been fanatics, twisted, mentally disturbed indivduals who go far far from the ideals of the groups in wwhich they profess to belong. He was an individual who took matters he percieved into his own hands and destroyed the lives of others without a care for any of them. Thank you for not publishing he name once again, he should banished from the world so no one can idolize him or his actions, ever!! There is NO cause worthy of killing like that, ever!! I think there are several things that lead to this.
1) The Medias desire to have the “inside scoop” or to be the first to report a fact (True or Not). They don’t care about the facts or truth just being first.
2) The unwashed masses cannot process a person doing this. Even those of us who comprehend these types of actions cannot truely understand what goes through a person like this’ mind. The people want answers and they want to be told it was an isolated incident so that their glass bubble is not broken and their whole world fall apart. Those of us who prepare mentally knowing that These types of things do take place do not need or want this.
There you go again being a grown up adult appling critical thinking and seeking facts before conclusions.

I agree 100%. With our social mediums today, “news” gets out faster than facts, then the mud-slinging begins, all while people are literally fighting for their very lives. It’s just sickening.
It’s time for some people to get a grip and re-evaluate what’s important.
Thank you for the names and ages of the victims – something the media didn’t go nationwide with. I will hear more calls for laws to stop this, but I understand murder, assault and property damage laws are already on the books in Arizona, and will be ignored as they were by the alleged perp.

One might wonder if there is a planned response to any mass shooting already in the playbook….There was a coordinated response in MINUTES. How could they have coordinated the message so quickly any other way?
Or, if you have your tinfoil hat on tightly enough, this was planned to give another lever to the gun banners.

What is coming out now more and more points towards this guy being nucking futz. His political affiliations are at best a label for a media that has lost the capacity to actually investigate and report facts.
It’s despicable that the media or any politician would use this to smear their opponents. Despicable, but sadly not surprising.
