Whipping it out…

Well, OG started it, and since I don’t have anything ‘positive’ to post, I’ll play along…

I’m gonna (once again) be an oddball, since I have actually have TWO carry knives, home knife and away knife…

On the left is my ‘away’ knife, a SOG Twitch II; on the right is my ‘home’ knife, an old Benchmade 154CM.  Both of them are kept sharp (see my earlier post about the thumb)…  I also carry a little Victronix for the scissors, tweezers, and toothpick.

Why two knives?  Simple, I’ve had that Benchmade for almost 20 years, and don’t want it to get ‘five finger discounted’ out of my luggage when I’m traveling.  The SOG is a nice knife, but I’m not really attached to it…

So that’s my pocket carries…

  1. Hey that looks familiar. You have good taste 🙂 Which one has the blood lust? 154CM so good and getting hard to find at a reasonable price.

  2. I carry the tanto version of the twitch. I’ve got others in the twitch, but prefer the tantos.

didja get my (2nd)email about the range box?

  3. I carried a Twitch II for quite some time until I lost it in the woods. I wasn’t quite willing to cough up the replacement price at the time, then couldn’t find one, and ended up with the Zing. (Which, to answer your question, I love.)

  4. I’ve got two “Leupold Tactical” knives which are really Benchmade 154CM knives with a slightly different handle.
They both fit my hand perfectly, and until I started carrying one, I never realized how handy it is to have a good knife at-the-ready.
    Why do I have two?
So one can be in use while the other is in transit to Benchmade to get sharpened.
I’d do it myself, but I’ve had zero luck sharpening my own knives!

  5. At any given time I could have a Buck Whittaker Summit (favorite), a Leatherman Freestyle/Style CS/
Micra or one of many Swiss army depending on the situation. Point being I’m never without a blad/tool of some sort.

  6. The knife I carry is part of my multitool that I carry pretty much everywhere all the time. I would like to carry a knife for self defense, but my reading of the VA laws seems to exclude the carry of any type of knife that could be used for that purpose.

  7. Danny- Yep, lots of history 🙂

Chris- Thanks, it was the Benchmade that ‘bit’ me…

    SS- Good!

MrB- I haven’t seen them- and no, didn’t get the email try again at oldnfo(at)gmail.com

Zer- That sucks… I still haven’t seen a Zing to actually handle one.

drjim- Not a bad idea 🙂

    Crucis- I’ll drop by!

    Socal- Heard that!

Andy- I don’t carry a knife for self defense, I carry a knife to open packages, cut string and tape, and…and… 🙂
