The wind pretty much kicked our asses all day on the long range stuff, steady 16-18 kts, gusting to 30 and rolling from direct cross to about 75 degree cross wind; so the same hold three shots in a row get you one left, one right and ‘maybe’ one on target… and as soon as you stood up, the chair blew over…
Here are a couple of pics of the 500 yard target and the 750 yard target- We couldn’t get a 1000 yard target and have enough of a safe zone, so we had to limit the Barrett .50 to that.
5 for 5, and I DID call the hostage taker head shot 🙂 (And I quit right then)…
Here’s the 750 target, the one upper left center was a skip in.
And one of the “target” car (set out at 375 yards).
And Matt picked up the SCAR and decided he wanted to shoot the hub caps… And he DID one shot for each hub cap on a gun he’d NEVER shot!!!
And I have to mention Tam’s shooting…
Now understanding that I knew “intellectually” that she was an outstanding shot is one thing, but what she did yesterday blew my mind (and added her to the list of people NOT to piss off).
She had her little Ruger .22 and I looked over and she was shooting from 10 yards at a steel that was edge on (90 degrees) to her. She hit it, turned it a bit, hit it again, turned it a bit, etc. until the 10th round knocked it over!!! I had to high five her on that, and just shake my head in amazement!

Too bad you couldn’t stay Sunday at Breda’s Shoot. Turns out that if you shoot at car wheels with an FN based Rifle in .308 long enough, that Smoke can start to appear as the bullet punches through and hits the oil pan….
Can’t think of very many better ways to spend a vacation!
