The Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Foundation has been developing somewhat of a reputation as a bully… threatening and filing lawsuits against anyone using their “trademarked” pink color (without a license from Komen) in product packaging, and even other groups using the term “cure” as part of their name or in the advertising of an event even when they were trying to fundraise for breast cancer.
I’m sorry, but just because you are doing some good, THAT does not give you the right to bully those other organizations that are also trying to do good…
Unless, it’s REALLY all about money, and not about providing anything other than big salaries to the few at the top…
Temptation is a bitch sometimes.
Knowing several women that have survived this and them telling me the same is all the proof I need.

Komen’s abuse of trademark law is certainly reprehensible. But I have no sympathies at all for Planned Parenthood. Given that money is fungible, its very easy for PP to move money out of cancer services into abortion services. They’ve broken the law many times before to protect their pro-death services.

Andy- Understood, and don’t disagree, but Comen is trying a BS strategy in my opinion. They don’t OWN breast cancer research…
The Komen Foundation isn’t composed of angels regarding the whole branding issue, but they really haven’t taken any heat over it until now.
They are now the bad guys for not continuing their grants to Planned Parenthood when they’ve showed their ass on the whole ‘for the cure’ issue the past few years but the press refused to run with it.

Like any organization that starts with a noble purpose. When the money starts coming in, the bottom feeders start working to take control. Sorry, way to cynical on my part.
