Changes in Latitude…

For those who travel through Munich, some ‘new’ changes to the customs and immigration procedures if you’re flying United to Lufthansa connection… Come in to Terminal H (as always), but no longer clear C&I in H, you walk down to Terminal G, go past the security check (NOT through it), and you’ll see a new C&I set up there. Once through, turn left, go downstairs to the G gates, and no second round of security!!! 🙂 Yeah US!!! Munich was typical, cold/drizzly, Naples is typical warm, humid, but for a change NO garbage strike! My nose and sense of smell are VERY appreciative… For those from the Northeast, one of your ‘traditions’ has apparently percolated over to Italy, and that is the guy washing the windshield in traffic… LOL, the taxi driver was NOT appreciative, and I thought we were going to have to break up the fight! On another note, apparently the watch thieves are back at it, not only in Naples, but Rome, Florence and Venice, so don’t wear a good watch, or ANY watch if you don’t have to…

  1. Just did UA to LH at Frankfurt this morning. I really wish they would figure out how to make it so we don’t go through secondary security.

A bunch of us were following the signs to the A gates when we got stopped by a red jacketed helpful airport guy YELLING at us to go another way. It took a couple of minutes for him to realize we weren’t all going to the same place and that he was blocking our way.

  2. PH- But it IS!!!

    Julie- Not so much…

    Keads- Tryin

    CT- I’l do that! 🙂

Andy- Yeah, Frankfurt is NOT user friendly… And I think I encountered that asshat before (around B gates?).

  3. My last visit to Naples was so long ago it qualifies as history, now. I’ll never forget pulling into the harbor & seeing a dead cat & household garbage floating in the water as we steamed to the dock.

Then a car ran through the barricade at the street & sank in the water about 120 yards from our port side. We had divers in the water before the mooring lines were tied.

  4. Congrats on trading Napoli for Munchen even if the weather is … usual. If you get down to Garmisch have a steak at Zum Widlschutz (#9 Bankgasse) and grab a bottle of Wildsautropf – that’ll cure anything the bad weather might bring.
