Typhoon (now Tropical Storm) number 05W went by last night, the eye missed us by about 75 miles, winds were ‘only’ 25-30, gusting 40. BUT, there was a wind leak in the window of my room, so it WHISTLED like a banshee for about 4 hours… sigh… and I was still wide awake at 0400 local…
No significant damage, but leaves and a few small limbs down. Off to work now (and try to stay awake).

Good luck with that. My Roomie at Blackwater snored loud enough I thought there was a big honking generator outside our window. Made for some long nights.
Glad you’re safe … nap during the meetings 🙂
Duct tape, both for the window, and the meeting. Don’t leave home without it.
Glad to hear everything is good.
Coffee, lot’s of coffee.
Glad it missed you, even if it kept you awake.
Meetings= nap.
Keads- that ‘almost’ was me in the meetings…
WSF- That is an option!
Andy- I’m now floating…
Rev- Yep!
Skip- I would have, but everytime I started nodding off, I got asked a @&* question… sigh
Pro Tip:
When you hit TC-1E and they tell you to fill your bathtub with water, fill it with ice.
It keeps all the beer cold, and then when it melts…Ta Da!…water.
Ask me about typhoon parties next time we go shooting. Especially if I drag the old lady along.
MSgt- Yep, know THAT trick… But I usually ended up IN an airplane flying away…
Wait 20 min into the meeting and then take an extended head call. Nobody dares to knock on the door of the stall.
I’ve been reading your blog for awhile, but I still don’t know what it is that drags you around the world. Is it a big “executive privilege” secret? Or can you tell me what you DO?
I am beginning to wonder if you have slept at all in the last month…
CT- Not a bad idea…
Fifty- I do ‘things’… 😉
Agirl- I’ll sleep when I’m dead… sigh
