Arms Trade Treaty…

This one just is beyond the pale, and I REALLY cannot understand why Hillary is in such a rush to get this pushed through, other than ‘fear’ of us unwashed masses, clinging bitterly to our religion and our guns…

International talks in New York are going on throughout July on the final wording of the so-called Arms Trade Treaty, which supporters such as Amnesty International USA say would rein in unregulated weapons that kill an estimated 1,500 people daily around the world. But critics, including the National Rifle Association’s Wayne LaPierre, warn the treaty would mark a major step toward the eventual erosion of the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment gun-ownership rights.

Now the really ‘interesting’ part is that this is NOT just about military weapons, but ALL firearms, military, civilian, antique, etc…

And aside from the impact to us, there is a larger impact to the USA and it’s ability to support our allies (e.g. China could force us to stop supporting Taiwan, since Taiwan has never been allowed to join the UN).

But back to you and I…

The potential (and I DO believe the administration would use it) would be for gun registration and limitations including what kinds of guns and/or how many one could own, and how much ammo one could have.

The ‘plan’ to include civilian arms is a really interesting twist, and I do believe this is one actually being pushed behind the scenes by people like Hillary and Amnesty International.

NRA’s Wayne LaPierre was finally allowed to address the UN yesterday, not a long speech, but a good one that puts a line in the sand…

And to me the “money quote” is this-

Without apology, the NRA wants no part of any treaty that infringes on the precious right of lawful Americans to keep and bear arms.
Let there be no confusion.  Any treaty that includes civilian firearms ownership in its scope will be met with the NRA’s greatest force of opposition.

As it should…  You can read his entire speech HERE.

Read and remember, now and especially in November-

Arms Trade Treaty… — 16 Comments

  1. Hillary and her band of nit-wit progressives are the same people you saw secretly behind the Operation Gunrunner/Fast and Furious program to demonstrate how American civilian firearms are finding their way into the hands of the cartels.

They’ll do anything to disarm America.

  2. I swear to God that the day is coming when American will have to stand against American because of stupidity like this.

Every single American needs to make it VERY clear to there Congressmen/woman that rounds will be exchanged if the government comes to take a single, solitary gun from a law abiding American.

    Dangerous times sir, dangerous times.

  3. They’re trying desperately to re-engineer Americans from citizens into subjects. When the disarmament begins, there will be a shooting war.

  4. So many issues in play here, but another big one is that the ATT is another step in not just the “erosion of the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment gun-ownership rights” but also America’s national sovereignty.

Just like the Law of the Sea Treaty (appropriately abbreviated as LOST) that the obama administration is trying to cram down our throats.

  5. They keep forgetting what the 2nd amendment actually means…it ain’t duck hunting. I swore when i saw the death camps in Dachau 1988 that “Da Man” will never get me into a cattle car to send me to a camp. The Germans went along in 1935 with having their rights stripped away at the behest of a popular and chrismatic leader. That will not happen here.

  6. LL- Yep, no question…

eia- Concur, and dangerous times is right…

    Rev- Yep

    Tim- Dead on Sir!

MrG- Concur- Been there, STILL smell the place…

  7. I’ve heard it said that Washington didn’t cross the Delaware to get to his duck blind. Trying to violate the rights of Americans under cover of a treaty will not end well.

  8. Got to listen to Wayne expound a little more on WMAL yesterday afternoon. John Lott was on there at the same time.

Even if the senate stops the US from signing on to this debacle, we will still feel the effects if enough other countries do.

Namely, everything will get much more expensive.

  9. Helm- Yep

DB- No he didn’t, and no it won’t 🙂

MSgt- I think you’re right, and I think this is an attempt at an end run to FORCE gun registration and do away with gun shows/private sales.

  10. I thought any treaties had to be ratified by.a 2/3 senate vote? If it doesn’t pass that, it ain’t law.
