The illegal-alien flight-school attendees included eight who had entered the country illegally and 17 who had overstayed their allowed period of admission into the United States, according to an audit by the GAO.
Six of the illegal aliens were actually able to get pilot’s licenses.
Discovery of the trouble at the flight school began when local police–not federal authorities–pulled over the owner of the school on a traffic violation and were able to determine that he was an illegal alien.

“Department of Homeland Security refused an invitation to send a witness to today’s hearing, pointing out that the Government Accountability Office recommended in 2008 that DHS and the TSA take the lead in drone security.
“I am concerned DHS is reverting back to a pre-9/11 mindset, which the 9/11 Commission described as a lack of imagination in identifying threats and protecting the homeland,” he said in his opening statement.
The other committee members piled on. GAO official Gerald Dillingham was asked by Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., “Why has the Department of Homeland Security been so slow to develop policies and guidance related to the domestic use of drones?”
“That’s a good question, sir,” Dellingham replied. “And we’ve not been able to get an answer from DHS or TSA why they have not followed our recommendations.”

Once again they are AWOL and back to fighting the ‘last’ threat. And they are ignoring REALITY…
So beware if your GPS starts drifting off into the middle of nowhere… There ‘might’ be a reason!

My Smarter Half and I drive 2,000+ miles round trip 3 or 4 times a year rather than deal with TSA.
I copied the charge receipts from last Christmas trips(properly redacted) and sent them to the airlines that serve our destination with the comment: “Ditch TSA and this money will be spent with you.”
I don’t expect them to do anything but little drops erode mighty hills.
