Contrasting Ads…

What a difference 26 years makes…

This first one is from 1984, with President Reagan running for a second term. The Reagan reelection campaign set the standard for modern political advertising with its fabled “Morning in America” series… This one is considered one of the best political ads ever done!

And this one is this year…

Quite a contrast isn’t it?

Need I say more?  I don’t think so.

VOTE on Nov 6th, I don’t care WHO you vote for, but please exercise your rights!

  1. Andy, I’ve seen that mistake over and over this year. I know Michelle Antoinette said it in Oiho, but I thought that was just the “Vote Early, Vote Often” gag.

  2. Yep – and there we are . . . .

I’m thinkin’ the Big “O” is going to have his butt handed to him. May be wishful thinking but I don’t believe it is . . .

    Time will tell!

  3. As a younger man I remember the positive future of the Reagan years. Now as an old gaffer I am saddend by the negative world the past 4 years has created.

  4. Today on Labor Day, we should be raising our fists and singing The Internationale (hymn of organized labor worldwide) and looking forward to what four more years of promises from Dear Leader…

Yes, it’s quite a departure from the Reagan Presidency and genuine hope and change.

  5. Well then. All we need now are a few worthy candidates, and we’re all set!

I don’t think I’m voting FOR anyone this year, but I’ll be voting AGAINST at least one candidate.

  6. I will be at my voting location on November 6 with a Pro-Second Amendment shirt on and hope I find some Panthers blocking my way.

  7. You DO know that while all of us out here know you really DO want us to vote, we also know you really DO have a preference for “who”! LOL….{yes, I know “Shaddup :-)” }..lol

  8. I shall be out there exercising a hard-won freedom little of the world enjoys – the right to a _secret_ ballot.

Y’all may have a real strong idea of whom I prefer, but you can’t make me tell you. By the pools of blood my mother stepped around to get on the bus during “election season” in her home country, I’ll look at where we are, and where I want us to be, and vote accordingly.

  9. The networks should play those two side-by-side like that. Very powerful.

    They won’t.
