Slow weekend in Chi-Town…

Looks like it was a ‘quiet’ weekend in Chi-town…

ONLY 5 killed…

Aa 73-year-old man, a 34-year-old man getting ready to celebrate his brother’s birthday, and a 20-year-old woman in a “domestic” incident, and two teenagers (one 17, the other 18) on their way to meet a girl…

And the ‘other’ shootings…

• About 7:04 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in the knee near the intersection of North and Central Park avenues in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

• A 31-year-old man was shot at 5:30 a.m. at his home in the 0-100 block of West 112th Street in the Roseland neighborhood on the South Side.

• About 5 a.m., a male walked into Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm, someone shot him in the 6400 block of South Albany Avenue in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

• A man was shot about 3:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Wolcott Avenue in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.

• A male was shot about 3:25 a.m. in the 2800 block of North Mason Avenue in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

• Two men were hospitalized after someone shot at them about 2:30 a.m. on the 600 block of North Central Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

• At about 2:20 a.m., a male was shot in the left shoulder while inside a vehicle in the 4800 block of West Chicago Avenue in South Austin.

• At about 1:30 a.m., a 25-year-old man was approached by two males and shot on the 1100 block of North Monticello Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

• At about 1 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Lawndale Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood on the South Side, a 20-year-old man was shot in the hand after someone approached him and started hitting him. The 20-year-old tried to run and heard a gunshot, and was shot in the hand.

• Two people in a van were shot about 12:30 a.m. today in Rogers Park and one of them returned fire, hitting their 21-year-old attacker, police said. The 21-year-old first approached the van on foot near Morse and Greenview avenues and opened fire, police said. Two men inside the van were struck, and one of them shot back, hitting the first shooter in the face and neck.

So one can only wonder why all these law abiding gun owners were out shooting up the neighborhoo…

Oh wait, Rahmbo would NEVER let illegal guns be used on the streets would he???

After all, this is the city with the toughest gun laws in the US, right???

And yet they want to take OUR guns away…

How about enforcing the @#^$@* laws and getting after the CRIMINALS???

  1. Well, to help out the cops, you won’t find any criminals in any new Chck-fil-a’s. Not in Chicago, anyways.

  2. They don’t need to enforce the laws. All they need is a lot of chain link fence, with razor wrap and some expert shots on the perimeter.

After about two weeks, all problems will be solved.

  3. Rev- Yeah, might ‘upset’ all the criminals…

    Tim/Ed- Concur… sigh

    PH- Sad… 🙂

    CP- True! LOL

    Les- I hadn’t thought about that…

Jess- We should do the SAME thing to Detroit…

  4. I visited the place once when I was in junior high school. Got to watch a Blackhawks game. I’d love to go back one day…when they get sane about concealed carry.

  5. we used to go shopping there before x-mas. now i wouldnt take my family up there for anything.

  6. WSF- Not no but HELL NO!

    Robert- I’ll pass…

Anon- You’re not the first I’ve heard say that.

  7. WSF- Not no but HELL NO!

    Robert- I’ll pass…

Anon- You’re not the first I’ve heard say that.

  8. Such a thing is UNPOSSIBLE. No one is carrying firearms in Illinios, certainly not in Chicago. Why, these shooting would be absolutely illegal! No one would break a gun law would they………………?

  9. I’m wondering if Rahm is using this to demonstrate what a poor decision McDonald v. Chicago was.

Not that Chicago still has a de facto gun ban or anything.

  10. .45ACP- Yes sir, agree…er… 🙂

Rick- Concur, but then again, how many of these are ‘legal’ carry??? My bet- ZERO!
