In truly SAD news, the HMS Bounty replica has been lost off the Graveyard of Ships. Kudos to the Coasties who went out and got 14 of 16 back… Those folks clank when they walk!

Wind has developed a steady hollow sounding roar here. I moved away from windows on that side as a precaution, though I don’t think it’s really that bad yet.

So, What’s your take on the Bounty? I’m no sailor, don’t pretend to be, but I guess you’ve got some salt in your veins. What happened to that magnificent ship? Did she shoal, or was the storm too much?

Paw- They over-estimated how fast they could ‘really’ go in a real sea, and they got off NC and I’m sure the waves were MUCH bigger than they figured; due to the Continental Shelf, that area is VERY shallow and the waves probably jumped to over 20feet. When that happened, they started taking water, lost power and sank.
