Random stuff…

It’s Friday, all kinds of ‘bad’ stuff is on the horizon, and frankly I just don’t feel like dealing with that s**t tonight…

So I’m broiling a steak (not allowed to have a grill- so sue me), some rabbit food, and a potato and I’m going to call it good and retire to my rocking chair…

A few things though…

Are the Chinese preparing for the long term? Yep, they think in terms of 100 years as SHORT term!!!

Hence the city of Empty City of Ordos…

You can see the article HERE, and there are lots of ‘interesting’ little (well less than $10B) projects going on all over China and they DO want to bring back the Silk Road…

Oh yeah, and THIS kinda strikes me as ‘funny’…  Gotta wonder what kind of gun, and what the trigger is set at…

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports that Lt. Paul Pratti of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office had hung his jacket on a stall door in a restroom at the Galleria in Wallkill in neighboring Orange County last Saturday night.

Officials say someone reached over the door and tried to grab his jacket, with the gun inside. Police say the gun fired twice, with both bullets hitting the ceiling. No one was injured.

And you gotta love it (or not), when the PETA’s of the world get ‘caught’ faking data/paying people…

From the Denver Post, HERE.

WASHINGTON—An animal rights group will pay Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus $9.3 million to settle a lawsuit the circus filed after courts found that activists paid a former circus worker for his help in claiming the circus abused elephants.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said Friday it was not admitting any wrongdoing in settling the lawsuit.

Do dogs dream?  You bet your ass the do… Having been ‘trampled’ by a German Shepherd a few times when he was sound asleep and the bed was between the door and him, yes they do…

This is a pretty cute compilation though!!!

Y’all have a good weekend!!!

  1. From your comment about the Chinese considering 100 years a short time I am reminded of a comment offered once by a Limey ship captain.

“We British think 100 miles is a long distance. You Yanks think that 100 years is a long time.”

This fellow lived in a house that was almost 600 years old.

  2. MB- Excellent point! I once dated a Spanish lady whose family were ‘late comers’, they’d ONLY lived in their house in Valencia for 500 years… sigh

  3. Get yourself one of the George Foreman type grills. I love mine, especially since mine, I can flip the grill plates from grill type to flat. It makes excellent Grilled Cheeses sandwiches as well.

And I have between 2 and 5 dogs in my bed every night. I am very glad the foot of the bed points towards the door. Although waking up with all of my covers on the floor when one of the dogs took off at full speed in the middle of the night is aggravating.

  4. I am not sure where you are getting your information, but good topic.
