All of the signs are MANDATED by the state of California, along with a first aid kit, a life ring (for the pool AND one for the hot tub), as is the chair lift (and one for the regular pool too) at $3800 each. Also the fence is new, as now the hot tubs apparently have to be fenced off too… Total spent appx $10,000 and neither of the chair lifts has ever been used… And using the hot tub is now a big PITA, but it’s all now ‘in compliance’ with the new Nanny…er California laws.
And one more, speaking of ‘Nanny State’…

Yep. They force you to follow their nanny guidelines, until they put the bullet in the back of your head and cover you with a bulldozer.
You would think one fence would suffice for the pool/jacuzzi area. Looks like they stuck that one in a playpen with an erector set or something.
Only the CA legislature could have come up with that one, to be sure.
The comrades in Kalifornia don’t really care whether you like the progressive paradise or not. But they do have some sort of wicked itch to scratch by sending their legions forth across the Western US…
Wonder if you can still drink a two liter bottle of Diet Coke while you soak in the hot tub??? If so, sure Mayor Mike will work on that . . . .
There is still little understanding by many state and federal officials at the level of resistance to new weapons restrictions . . . . this is NOT 1994 . . .

I classify all of the Nanny states as occupied territory and avoid them whenever possible. What a shame.

Florida is starting those same swimming pool, hot tub mandates as well.. But I don’t think we are going overboard on the signage..
The insanity that is California tries to spread, as LL noted. Some of their recent transplants to Anchorage fuss about the same things, but a) we don’t have swimming pools (although many folks have hot tubs on their decks), and b) no one will obey it.

So-far our hot-tub has not been required to have such a thing installed, but self-managed associations still have some leeway.
