And this is good how???

I need one of those ‘knowledgeable democrats’ to ‘splain this one to me…

House passes off-shore drilling bill (HR 6899) – Except…

No profit sharing for the States (so no impetus to approve drilling), no drilling closer than 50 nm to coast (which is where ‘most’ of the readily available oil is) so as to not interrupt oceanfront views, allows drilling beyond 100nm (which is already in place), large fees from the oil companies (whether oil is found or not), attached items like alternative fuel requirements for utility companies, energy tax incentives and the phasing out of some $17 billion in tax breaks for the oil industry and lifts a moratorium on an oil shale leasing program for Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, but only IF a state decided to move ahead with leases. . .

Now, I’m just a dumb ol’ country boy, but if this isn’t a political scam by the dems I don’t know what is… They will parade around how they passed this bill over “objections” of the Republicans, but it won’t be their fault when the Senate doesn’t go along… Sigh…

Oh yeah, the benefit to us? Nada… no oil anytime soon, no alternatives, no new nuclear plants, nada %^&* thing. Just more of the same…

  1. Yeah, loved the “we’re meeting about the financial woes at wall stree” photo-op this evening.

    Great video!

  2. Jim – this is just plain ridiculous. I keep hearing the same old crap about even if we started drilling today it would take years to see any effect. Of course that’s untrue… we could have oil pumping out in less than two years, the problem is… no where to refine it! We haven’t built a new refinery in over 20 years! (Thanks to the overzealousness of our liberal environmentalists). This newly passed bill is a OMG, roll my eyes, farce. Too bad. They had the opportunity to shine and instead they continue to sabbotage any real chance we have at digging ourselves out of the “oil dependency” hole.

  3. RT- I missed that one…

ADM- Neither can I… I want one of them edumacated democrats to splain it to me 🙂

FF- True! And the odds are it will be 4-5 years JUST to get through the paperwork, much less build a new refinery.

  4. The thing about it that amazes me, is that the whole god damned exercise is so friggin “transparent” that even the dipshit way far lefties must also be rolling their eyes and saying OMG! What a bunch of retarded idiots Nancy, Harry and their ilk are! Guess I’ll shut up with the swear words before you block me from the site!

  5. EV- Agreed… They are all doing the “who me?” when everything points right back to them… Barney Frank should be taken out and shot- He’s supposedly the chairman of the banking committee in the house and the idjit from New York in the Senate- but since they’re dems, the are untouchable…
