Here comes the weather…

Severe thunderbumper watch till 0200… I’m shutting down so I don’t blow ANOTHER computer up… night all.
Edit- Interesting how the deep red washed out in the jpeg, compared to the actual Doppler radar shot. Hmmm…

  1. You probably won’t see this until after all the ugly weather is gone, but I hope nothing severe finds its way to your door.

    I hate bad weather.

  2. Wonders where you live and how close you are to cincinnati airport, which is in the town in KY that i live in………… But I grabbed my TOTO and shutdown for many hour’s incase i had ANOTHER surge…… laughs…. last surge left me without power for a week and blew the water heater….. Up and running as you can see….. But the TV is still showing pixels on cable instead of the actual movie. Be safe and fly safe

  3. Snigs- LOTS of wind, spits of rain. Power flickered a couple of times, but that was it.

CDP- I live in Northern Virginia, so quite a ways from Cincy… 🙂 Glad to hear y’all got power back, sorry about the cable, that is NOT an easy fix.

  4. Came in yesterday to Nashville on Southwest as the front blew in.

50-60 MPH winds. Very exciting but the pilot did a great job.

The FA said, “The next time you are thinking about a rollercoaster ride, please consider Southwest.”

  5. We had a lot of rain, thunder and lightning Tuesday night—around 2″ of rain overall. Guess it finally arrived to your area.

Nice listening to the rain until that big boomer at 3:06AM. Shook the entire house.

  6. Anon- Yep, THOSE are the days the pilots earn their pay… 🙂

Crucis- we had almost no rain, it’s now 4pm, winds are STILL gusting to 40 kts. Not a good day for a combover hair style 🙂

  7. I once tried to land a Cherokee in a 25kt crosswind. First tried to crab in, didn’t have enough rudder. Next tried to slip in, still not enough rudder. Finally had to land on an old grass strip where the cross wind wasn’t so bad. (I like grass strips!)

  8. Crucis- That’s commonly called pucker factor 🙂 We landed a Cub ACROSS the runway one time because of the winds… Runway width, plus intersection taxiway, plus 40 kts= 20 kts foward speed and then damn near ground looped it trying to taxi to the hangar!

ADM- Yep, and more cold to come!

Now this will sound silly , but did ya ever take a live cat up in a cub ?

If not , damm do i have a story for you . It relates to … nahh we will wait a bit on it . If i have occasion to share a libation or two with ya i will tell you the ” cat story ” in full .
