Or lack thereof…

And still getting the body clock to at least ‘think’ about cooperating…

Now if they just had drip coffee in the rooms instead of instant…

Meeting Tarb from here in Australia was a real pleasure, and he’s a nice in person (and as funny) as he appears to be on Facebook and Skype; he’s also very laid back and knowledgable of what is going on world-wide.  He’s also a shooter, and loves his .45 (can’t figure out why)!

We spent a couple of hours just chatting and drinking coffee, and commiserating about the lack of selection of guns available to Aussies, and attitudes toward guns and shooting in Australia.  He is another that believes it IS changing (slightly) in a positive direction down under, but here too the media tends to drive the coverage in a negative direction (does that sound familiar or what???),

He’s fairly new to pistol shooting, but grew up shooting rifles and shotguns, and knows  what he wants, the problem is actually being able to get it.

Thank you Sir for coming in to meet me, and hopefully we can get together again when I’m in the area!

Edit- I got to meet another reader for dinner, Sendarius whom as it turns out is ALSO in Perth!  He’s also a shooter and long time IPSC competitor, and basically concurs with all that Tarb said, except he DOES discuss shooting at work. 🙂  He’s got a lot of funny stories, and had me rolling laughing more than once!

Thanks guy, a real pleasure to meet you and maybe next time we can actually go shoot!

  1. It’s selfless of you to take these world travelling adventures to report on the gun culture of foreign lands.
I love those big industrial strength coffee machines.
My first coffee came out of one on a hilltop in Italy outside of Napoli.

  2. That’s not an ornament – it’s false advertising!

It was good to meet you – maybe next time we can do an Aussie barbie.
That was one of the things I noted as a major difference between US & Australian Cuisine.
BBQ in the US is all about rubs, flavoured smoke, marinades, and basting sauces – an Aussie barbie is all about burning the meat the right amount. 🙂

  3. Sendarious- I’ll take you up on it! 🙂 And yeah, they’ve gone all new tech… sigh
