My SIRT training pistol finally showed up!!!
Yes, it’s a Glock format, but the nice thing is you can practice dry fire, and mag changes without having to rack the slide every time. It also has adjustments for the trigger pressure, overtravel and a number of other adjustments. You can also put specific sights on it to match your sights on your carry or target pistol too!
I’m planning on using it as a teaching aid, in addition to practicing at home (since I gave away my Laserlyte cartridge to a neighbor that had just picked up a new pistol and couldn’t get ammo to shoot regularly.
After attending the class with Bill at EIAft, I was sold, and even more so now. Now I need to start setting up a ‘training wall’ like Bill has…
Bill is THE man.
LL- He does good! Passionate and dedicated to helping folks get better at defending themselves. And he’s a damn good instructor too!
Hmmm. Sounds like something I will have to look into.
Opus- I’d HIGHLY recommend it if you can’t get to the range on a regular basis. And with the tune-ability, it can be set up to mimic your carry gun (even better if you carry a Glock).
OK, just clicked “buy it now” on ebay. $212, should arrive by Thursday.
Nice!! Have not been able to use their M4 Carrier bolt, darn thing will NOT come on, even by manually pressing the “on” button . . . heavy sigh. I see a RMA in my future next week! 🙂 I have some new SIRT targets, I’ll email them to you next week – played a bit with Photoshop to make them “mine” rather than using other folks. Enjoy, heck of a lot cheaper to buy a CR123 once in a while and 9mm ammo! 🙂
Bill, if you don’t mine, I’ll share those targets with Opus and Keads too! Yeah, RMA it, they DO stand behind their product!
No problem, anyone is more than welcome to forward them on to anyone who might like them. Enjoy! 🙂
I have not gotten around to getting mine yet. Thanks for the targets!
Bill- Will do.
Keads- You’re behind… 😀
I use mine (and really need to buy a second one) with students in the classroom. I adjusted the red laser to 2.5″ below user line of sight at 20 feet if the user’s sight alignment is correct. That way I can see it but the student can’t; they will use the dot to correct their aim if they can see it and I want to identify sight picture problems. The green laser dot at sear break is adjusted to perch on top of the front blade – positive reinforcement.
FYI, the SIRT green laser will work with the LaserLyte trainer. I’d much prefer the LaserLyte show each shot point as it happens rather than require shooting the “Display” button, but it’s still a semi-useful tool.
Alien- Thanks for the input. I am in the process of dropping the takeup laser lower too. The trigger break is dead on the top of the sights, so it’s good to go!
Thanks for the info! I’ve been using LaserAmmo for dry fire/laser training. I will definitely check this out, and start saving my pennies for it.
I will get one as sadly trigger time is limited
