HR 38 passed (CCW Reciprocity nationwide)…

And typically, the left went nuts…

Inviting violent criminals to carry concealed weapons doesn’t save lives. Inviting domestic abusers to carry concealed weapons doesn’t save lives. Inviting convicted stalkers to carry concealed weapons doesn’t save lives. Yet the @HouseGOP just voted to do exactly that.”
— House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), in a tweet, Dec. 6, 2017

Apparently Everytown (Bloomie) fed her ‘data’ and she went with it…

And in this one, some pushback on the disqualified gun buyers…

Last year the FBI asked the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to retrieve guns from 4,170 people who were cleared to buy them even though they were disqualified under federal law. USA Today, which reported that number in an “exclusive” last week, sees it as evidence of a broken background check system. But these retrieval referrals also highlight the arbitrariness of the criteria that strip people of their Second Amendment rights.

When one looks at the actual numbers, e.g. 27.5 million background checks, with 4,170 “delayed denials”, and doing the math comes out to a ‘failure’ rate of 0.015 percent. While it is perceived as being a real problem, it’s actually amazing, considering that NICS is run by the government’s notorious inefficiency.

In a slightly ‘different’ vein, it also appears volunteers from groups including Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America are now running for office themselves.

Nine of 13 volunteers trained by the group ran for office this year and won seats, and fourteen more have already declared their intentions to run for office in 2018, all running as Democrats…

  1. There are some Senators up for re-election that are going to have to search their egos for this one. (they have no hearts) What do you think will happen in the Senate?

  2. Part of the problem Pelosi has in recognizing the difference between propaganda and truth is that she has NOTHING in her home district to bring her into check. She represents San Francisco, and usually wins with 80+ percent of the vote. Therefore, she has, essentially, a seat for life, with only a revolt by younger Democrats in the House as a threat. If there were enough of them who could tell her ‘shut up, you are losing us OUR seats,’ she might have a problem.

  3. I’m thinking it will die in the Senate… Thanks for the comments.

    Posted from my iPhone.

  4. Yeah. She always had been an idiot over the firearm thingies. And then fear mongers the ignorant masses who don’t read the dang bills nor know what it is or means. Stupid. Stupid.

  5. And even if it passes the Senate, reconciles, and is signed into law, MA, CA, and others probably have lawyers lined up and ready to launch to oppose it, since it would override state restrictions on CC.

    • Yup. I’m not expecting my non-resident Utah CCWP to be good anywhere else, anytime soon!

I have the package for my Colorado CCW. Just waiting on my CO driver’s license….

  6. OTOH, New Jovian Thunderbolt and I are still boned, no matter what passes (or doesn’t pass)…

  7. The Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1989 is routinely ignored by NY, NYFC, NJ, MASS, MD, ILL, particularly CHICAGO*spit*, CA, OR, and WA. No one has been prosecuted by the federal DOJ for abuses of that act. We will not see national reciprocity (as we understand it) in our lifetimes … unless The Great Cleansing takes place.
    Cynical? Moi?!?

  8. Sadly, I concur that we’ll get hosed by the GOP-controlled Senate. There are just enough of them there who would rather spite the President than give him a win on anything, even if they have to bone their own constituents to do it.

  9. I hate Maryland. Yet I’ve never had an impulse to shoot anybody when I’ve been in Frederick. Oh, wait, ok, maybe Maryland politicians.
