Ate WAY too much yesterday, but I think Christmas was a success with the kids…
The ripping and shredding of wrapping paper…
One surprised grandson! He got a laptop for school…
And the kids are playing in the boxes… And scattering peanuts everywhere, in addition to trying to eat them… Sigh…
In case anyone thinks we staged that, the kids did it on their own… 🙂

I often wondered why I bothered buying Christmas presents for my kids when they were toddlers. They had way more fun playing with the boxes the toys came in!

I’ve found that the kids often like playing with the boxes just about as much as they like playing with the stuff that came in them.

We put everything in bags this year. A few items got wrapped, but in a very low-decorative style.
I much prefer this method.
Other than THE birthday, this is what Christmas is all about. The joy of watching kids be kids. Glad you had a great one. And I have discovered that it is more relaxing to wear sweatpants at Christmas dinner. They stretch more than jeans.

They LOVED having their Papa and all their family here to play with and show off to way more than all the presents they got. Now what am I to do now that all they have are mom and dad to play with??? Who’s going to entertain them while I cook? Clean?? And just go to the bathroom by myself??
Along side the “Reason for the Season” this was how Christmas in America is supposed to be. You’re a lucky man. What a wonderful Christmas full of love and memories your family will remember for years. That photo of the kids in the box should be framed and put out every year as part of the decorations.
