Pretty in red!!!

The last couple of weeks have been ‘interesting’ for what’s been out and about…

A week ago, 67 RS Camaro, 327/4 speed, original except for the hood mod.

Yesterday was the last predicted ‘good’ (read warm) weather for a while, so a number of ‘nice toys’ were out and about. These two were the only ones I had a chance to get pics of.

32 Ford sedan, ‘slightly’ modified… I think a 351, and upgraded with ‘real’ (read disk) brakes… And NOT for sale either… sigh  With a real trunk on the back!

And air horns… LOL

Sigh… 68, 327 SS original equipment, restoration done 15 years ago and 1700 miles since then… And the Crager SS mags are original ones, not reproduction…

I’ll be in my bunk… Sigh…

  1. Nice looking cars.
And disk brakes are a yes. I think the first change on any older car would be modern brakes.
I remember driving a friends Mustang and towards the end of a long and twisty downhill I was standing on the brakes with both feet. I was in my late teens so that would have been quite some time ago.

  2. I could see driving the Ford, but I’d have to move to a Class III-permissive state, so I could carry a Thompson in a violin case. And happily, it’d only be about 1/3rd the price of the car.

  3. John- Oh hell yes!!! 66 GOAT, tell me about brake fade!

Aesop- LOL, love it! And probably true.

  4. The first generation F-Bodies (Camaro and Firebird) are nice, but the second generation ones are far more competent cars.

    Still, they sure look purdy!

  5. Damn somehow I knew you meant cars when I saw the title but I kind of, sort of, almost wished for nighties.

  6. As I went by my neighborhood classic dealer a 53 Ford convertible was pulling out. Cherry, of course. They have a Corvair convertible out front.

  7. Do these cars just routinely cruise your town or do you have recurring car shows.
We have a local weekly meet and the neighboring town does also, but you don’t see them much besides those days.

  8. I recall the 67 Camaro in green. Neighbor’s daughter, really pretty, got one for her birthday. Not sure if the girl 9r the Camaro had more if my attention.

  9. “No replacement for displacement.”
My first car was a ’68 Cutlass SS.
    350cid small block V8.
    Drum brakes.
    Bias ply tires.
Yeah, you learn a LOT about the laws of physics with that combination.

  10. All- Thanks for the comments! Ed- I think they have the occasional car show, but it’s not on a regular basis, nor are cruises, at least that I’m aware of.

    Posted from my iPhone.

  11. I saw a Hudson today. Had heard of Hudsons, but don’t think I’d ever seen one before.

If I won the gigazillion lottery that I don’t play, I think I’d use some of the money to rescue the lonely, forgotten cars and trucks I sometimes see stuck out in a field somewhere, moldering away. I don’t want to own or collect them, but I’d have them accurately restored and then sell them to someone who would love them as they should be.
