Interestingly, it appears the Pentagon has NOT spent the allocated $$ (estimated at $15M) to set up voting assistance at military bases, because they claim they didn’t have enough funding…
Enough to make one wonder if there was some ‘direction’ from higher to, lets say, ‘ignore’ that whole voting assistance thing…
Since the military ‘tends’ predominately Republican/Libertarian/Independent, I can’t think of “any” reason why anyone would want to do that…

I’ve never been in the military, but from conversations with family members, and friends, the military community suffers tremendously while a Democrat Commander In Chief is in office.

I like to think the military is smarter than I am, and I never used the Federal form for absentee voting, and as a minor leader I broadcast for free about getting registered and voting by mail. The problem my soldiers had was normally states that weren’t prepared for the volume and snail mail pace.
Still, the politicians can only control the counting, if the voters can’t feel part of the process, they will have to change the government, again.
Why not? This administration already filed suit to make it harder for Ohio voters deployed to a combat zone to get their ballots by trying to block a law passed specifically due to previous attempts in 2000, 2004, and 2008 to invalidate military ballots for reasons outside the control of the voters.
The claim is that it is “unfair” to Ohio voters who are actually physically present in-state, but wish to vote absentee, if deployed military personnel get a couple of days extra to ASK for an absentee ballot.
Oh, I so think this is deliberate and coming from above.

Well, let’s think about this. When I was in, I never used the Military to get my Absentee Ballots. I just contacted my local Board of Elections myself, and I got it in time to Vote and send back. But with the InterWeb, maybe a lot of our Military is just getting their Paperwork online?
Also, take into account how many Service People were Deployed outside CONUS in 2008 vs. today.
So I can see a 92% drop in Requests through the Military happening. Perhaps it’s just a case of bypassing the Middle Man?
