Today’s Lesson…

Sometimes, we try too hard to get to the greener grass…

In the process, we end up in trouble…

And when you find yourself in trouble and you’re stuck in a situation that you can’t get out of, there is one thing you should always remember…

Not everyone who shows up is there to help you!!!!

And then there’s speed control in Kansas…

No confirmation to the rumor of an old man sitting in a rocking chair with a lever action .30-.30… nope… not a one… 🙂

  1. Old NFO, I see cows and horses reeeeeeeeally stretching their necks out to get those succulent weeds on the other side of the fence. You know, the ones that somehow taste a million times better than the ones on their side of the fence?

Luckily, just about everyone around here uses barbed wire, so there’s some give in the strands. Nothing more amazing to me than seeing a long-horned bovine somehow successfully maneuvering its massive rack (HAH!) between the wires of the fence.

  2. A couple of years ago a rancher here had Houdini steer that loved the grass and weeds on the other side of the fence. For several days in a row, fancy Crown Victoria’s with added on special lights would herd the steer back into the field.

  3. Christina- Yep, just like people… well, except for the longhorns 🙂

    WSF/Fuzzy- AH… Yep 🙂

Peedee- Yep, bet that was a ‘rude’ awakening…

Gia- They DO kinda hit the point, don’t they 🙂

S Phillips- I think I met that steer in Oklahoma last year… and it was being escorted 🙂

CS- Thank you… thank you 🙂

    ADM- Good one!

  4. Back in 1981 in Navy tech school in Pensacola, we found a cartoon image of a mouse caught in a mousetrap, with another mouse “rogering” it, and a line of other mice waiting to take their turns. One of the class did some retouching to make the various mice resemble members of the class; it hangs on my wall to this day. Your second cow photo reminded me of this.
