Well, THAT was interesting…

Due to ‘unforseen’ circumstances, myself, Tom Rogneby, and John Van Stry ended up having to do a panel to fill in for Peter and Dorothy, when they got called away to an author’s dinner…

We did what I’ll charitably call Indie publishing 101. An hour and forty-five minutes of free form this is how we do it, this is how we’ve screwed it up, no working mics, and people actually stayed and listened.

I’m considering that a win, and walking away… LOL

Regular blogging should resume Tuesday, after I recover.  Maybe I’ll get something up Monday, but don’t count on it…

  1. I wish I was there to have experienced the convention and to have heard you speak. It sounds like one of those things that fills your battery as an author.

  2. Please tell us there is either an audio recording or film of the panel. (fingers are crossed very hard!)

LL nailed it with the comment.

  3. LL- it does refresh the batteries, other than lack of sleep, that is…

John- Thankfully, no… LOL nobody had to break their camera.

  4. Ya’ll did really well. I enjoyed it, until I got called away to herd Minions

  5. At least you didn’t have to break out any war stories – “there I was, 50′ off the deck with two engines out”.
Like my 30-minute MITRE briefing on the UD-4L Cheyenne dropship, when you know and are comfortable with your topic, it comes very easily.

  6. RS- Thank you sir!

WN- LOL, nope no sea stories…

Rev- Actually you didn’t miss much 🙂

  7. Sorry I missed you all at the end, I wanted to say goodbye and wish you all a safe trip home, but the Senior Minion had to get home for an all-night set build session for her local community theater. Thanks for making this the best Libertycon ever!!!

(I tried to explain to someone that the Navy does stupid shit with, and in, aircraft, and the Air Force does stupid shit with, and in, aircraft, but it’s not the same stupid shit as the other service. So while you can laugh at each others stupid shit, you can take comfort in knowing that neither service has a monopoly on doing stupid shit with, and in, aircraft!)

  8. Thanks for the great insight / info at / from the panel.
Sorry we came in late, having been ambushed at the ConSuite – Somehow a couple of glasses of cider jumped into our hands while we were talking and snacking.
A big squeee! from Priscilla at meeting you, and thanks for the signed book – she gets first reads on it tomorrow.
Our first time at LibertyCon – we loved it and will be back.
    Thanks, John ( JPDev )

  9. I had a great time doing it. Thanks for suggesting we pass around our books so the audience could compare/contrast. I’m hoping we get a chance to do it again next year!

  10. RS- Not a problem sir! And yes, VERY true!!!

John- Glad to see y’all, and looking forward to seeing you next year!

DB- You’re welcome, and yes, hopefully we get to repeat!

  11. It was nice meeting you and I did have fun doing the panel with you, though I wish I’d had taken the time to write some notes so I couldn’t have stayed a bit more on topic! 🙂

  12. All- sorry for the half a response there, AT&T is going up and down like a ping-pong ball, so I will just say thanks for all the comments and John I think we did a hell of a good job considering they lead time we had!
