RIP Lady…

Roberta Flack passed away yesterday.

She was one of the greats in the 1970s, able to sing R&B, jazz, folk, and pop, and did some beautiful music with a variety of partners. She was also a very talented pianist! This, to me, is one of her best if not her best song.

And she did it all with her pure voice. No fancy electronics to make her sound better, just going out there and singing…

May you rest in peace, you will be missed.

  1. Talent on loan from God. I don’t recall hearing any negative press written against her. She kept her Fame and Fortune from controlling her private life. Often not the story today – famous becomes infamous really quickly.

  2. The music of my generation has lost one of it’s most distinctive voices.

  3. That song always gives me the shivers, it is so deeply moving. She will indeed be missed.

  4. What memories from 50 years ago. A gifted singer.

  5. I bought her first album and listened to it over and over. I think most of my listening of music was from the 1970s. What a beautiful voice and yes, she will be missed.
