Revenge…

And justice are best served cold!!!

In 2016 and 2017, the left vented its shock and fury at Donald Trump’s unexpected victory by, among other things, protesting the construction of an oil pipeline in North Dakota. The “mainstream” media claimed that Energy Transfer was ramming its Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) through all sorts of sacred Native American lands and that no one wanted it.

In fact, Energy Transfer went out of its way to work with natives and locals, and most were glad of the opportunity and prosperity DAPL would provide. Nonetheless, environmentalist activists co-opted a protest by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, making it into the face of the spurious claims. Professional protestors from near and far got into the act, throwing sand into the project’s gears at the construction site, at funding sources, and in the PR sphere. In the end, these actions delayed the project by five months and added approximately $350 million to the cost, Energy Transfer claimed in a lawsuit it launched in 2019.

Energy Transfer named three Greenpeace entities — Greenpeace USA, Greenpeace International (based in the Netherlands), and Greenpeace Fund — as the organizers and funders of this sabotage. And on Wednesday, a North Dakota jury found that the infamous non-profit must pay the price for its actions.

Greenpeace was bragging in various media about how they were ‘shutting down’ the pipeline.

Well, guess what… They got caught, and pending who knows how many appeals, will now pay the price! And if that means their extinction, so much the better!

$660 million in damages for defamation and other charges just ‘might’ be the end of them… In any case, they will be greatly reduced, and will probably be pulling their horns in and thinking twice about attacking already approved projects!!!

I find it supremely ironic that their ‘protests’ against Trump’s 1st term comes to a conclusion as his 2nd term starts.

Now, if they can just get the rest of the Earthfirsters and get them taken care of, we’ll all be better off.

  1. Well, if the courts affirm the shutdown of the USAID “Pipeline” (pun intended). The greenpeacenicks will well and truly be screwed. No regrets from me.

  2. Excellent.

Actions have consequences, even for Leftist causes sometimes.

  3. Hey Old NFO,

I am glad to hear that, I can understand being good stewards of the planet, but these “green” movements have gone way overboard and seem to only “annoy” certain industry and countries, I have been calling them “Watermelons” for years, Green on the outside and Red on the inside. Ecomarxist.

  4. One can hope. but I am afraid they’ll declare bankruptcy and form a new organization. But as others have said, a lack of NGO funding from Uncle Sam will hopefully hurt.

  5. What is interesting to see is a map of all the pipelines carrying a variety of products already crisscrossing the U.S , easy to google. Yet reports of leaks are not many or go unreported .

I have always thought that the Keystone Pipeline if completed , would be useful , even just existing empty or non flowing , by “just the option or (threat) of opening the valve(s)” . I think other oil exporting nations would respond by lowering prices. Last time I looked into it Buffet’s BNSF railroad was moving tankers full of oil (this was quite some time ago) , and I do recall spills and tank derailings and fires , not a lot or a common occurence being reported .

I’ll admit I don’t know much about pipelines , and a little bit about tanker operations , hazmat , spill response etc , from the Nav , and trucking with tankers and hauling Hazmat (Monsanto , hat’em or love ’em “PAID GOOD!”. 8-10 yrs ago two other trucks and my truck , had the entire states of Kan and Neb , carrying Atrazine based herbicide for milo , then moved north and east with roundup
as the planting spraying season moved , even sitting still, they paid the truck a good guaranteed rate , and serving farm coops , you were mostly on two lanes out in east bf , dealing with friendly people who were glad to see you , and wanted to offload you when you pull , try getting unloaded fast at a Walmart warehouse ) , I digress as usual , Sorry about that . But yeah existing pipelines are plentiful already, the maps of pipelines will open some eyes , environmental hazards, yeah probably, giant tank farms , yeah probably equally so. I can live with it , if I was a statistics expert I bet there are greater daily threats around us all , even on the Rez . Greenpeace , dealt with them before , in the Nav, wasn’t impressed . Long winded and off track again Old Nfo , Sorry bout Dat. but sometimes your postings get me inspired , and my coffee was damn good this morning when combined with a gout pill.

  6. In our “legal” system (sic)…winning doesn’t guarantee actually getting paid. Odds are good that a different judge in a different location with a different agenda may toss out the award or even the verdict. And appeals ad nauseum ad infinitum are a certainty. In America the only true winners when it comes to the legal system are the shysters involved….who always get paid one way or another.
