GLOCK Releases Single Stack 9mm Concealed Carry – The New G43

SMYRNA, Ga – (Mar. 20, 2015)  – Today GLOCK, Inc. announced the release of the new GLOCK single stack slimline 9mm pistol, the GLOCK 43. The G43 is the most highly desired and anticipated pistol release in GLOCKs history. Designed to be the answer to everyday concealed carry needs, the G43 is ultra-concealable, accurate, and comfortable for all shooters, regardless of hand size.

G43

Now lots of folks are already bad mouthing it.  We’ve heard that meme…

Too little too late, not enough rounds, it’s going to kill the G42, G26, G19, etc…

It’s ugly, yada, yada, yada.  I’m going to wait until I actually get my paws on one to comment.  And I’ll hopefully get to do that at the NRA AM next month. The one thing ‘I’ see that I do like is the lack of finger grooves on the front of the grip.

Anyhoo, expect to see another report from the NRA AM…

YMMV, I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn, etc. 🙂

  1. 6+1 capacity? Sounds like a 9mm G36, and given those numbers, I’ll take the G36.

  2. If it was .45 — would I buy one? No. My Kimbers would rise up in revolt and blow up in my hand.

  3. I haven’t yet found a Glock that feels right in my hands. Will I see if this one is it? Sure. Will it be “the one”? Nope.

    I like my 1911s.

  4. I’ve never even shot a Glock. Single-stack, but is the slide any narrower than my Sig P245? Sounds like it’s built for states like (here in) CA with unpleasant and stupid and ill conceived restrictions, but where Glock needs to stay current and “on the approved handgun roster.”

  5. It’ll succeed or fail on the details. Like Trigger, backstraps, if Glock makes extended mags, guess they’re tired of their customers buying XDs

  6. Since I already have a Shield, I don’t see any advantage in it for me. But it’s always nice to have options.

  7. All- Good points! But I’m going to reserve judgement until I can actually fondle one. 🙂

    Posted from my iPhone.

  8. Of course it’s ugly, just like all the other Glocks.

I only own one Glock, a model 21. It’s okay, not my favorite, but if I need it, I can expect it to go bang and cycle. Pretty wasn’t something I was considering when I bought it.

I would think about a Glock single stack 9 for a concealed carry option, would want to fondle it and hopefully shoot it before having to decide.

  9. The “ugly” Glock knock always amuses me, like that should be a thing in a buy/no buy decision for a defensive handgun you’re willing to stake your life on. 🙂 But to each, their own.

  10. I hope its a good one. As in has no recall issues. Amazing how many crop up in new production guns, I figured they tested them BEFORE they put them on the shelves.

I wish I had bought a Star BK or BKM back in the day. My high miler is a Star PD (.45ACP) and I absolutely love it. A lightweight compact companion in 9mm pistol should have been purchased. My S&W 639 is pretty compact but HEAVY (duh j.r. – stainless STEEL!) for an 8 shot 9mm. Too much weight. My sole Glock is a 21 (full size .45ACP). I’m happy with it.

  11. I will look at one but since the G26 holds almost twice as many rounds and is only about an eighth of an inch thicker, I dunno.
