Here we go again…

The usual suspects have started the continued the rant against *.* Puppies already…

K. Paulk put up the SP4 reading list/recommendations at MGC, with the entire list HERE.

Predictably, the POS (nee SJWs) went bat nuts, pressuring authors to deny the list, beg their name be removed, etc…

But THIS, best of Critics list seems to be fine with them…

Can somebody ‘splain that to me? Please???

Remember, nominations close on the 31st of March for the Hugos.

  1. The Hugos (sad puppies turning into rabid puppies) are a microcosm of what is going on in the Republican (and Democrat) parties in America.

  2. I know it’s a big deal inside the Sci Fi/Fantasy publishing world. But for most of the rest of us, it’s a tempest in a teapot. Political correctness run amuck, to its obvious end, by those who refuse to police themselves.

    Sad, that.

  3. LL- That it is! Instructive too!

Fargo- LOL, hadn’t thought of it that way, but you’re right… 🙂

    Rev- Exactly!

  4. Meanwhile, in the hours following the latest terrorist attack in Brussels, obama is watching a baseball game in Cuba.

    Words fail me…

(Apologies for the off-topic post, but I just caught a news feed showing barry sitting in the stands and I had to vent. Yours was the blog I happened to be reading at the time.)

  5. Tim- Yep, 51 seconds, then back to me, me, me… Sigh

Mark- Thanks for putting them in!

  6. I started reading about the vitriol over the awards ceremonies last year, Nicki and Peter have also extensively written about this. While I’ve purchased four of Peter’s books, most of the modern sci-fi isn’t my preference for reading. I don’t hold the view that the books are boring, or the authors can’t write, I don’t know that since I haven’t purchased any of the books. 😉 And there are a lot of people that do like the books and authors, which is part of the reason for all the conflict. Having said that, why any author thinks that their books should get preference over another authors is stupid and selfish. So, +10 for Rev. Paul’s comment. Mini rant over. 😉

  7. Grog- Agree with all! Having read a few of them for nom purposes, they were basically SJW rants couched in space… NOT Heinlein quality by any means…

    Rick- Yep!

  8. Heinlein didn’t write novels, he wrote aphorisms with flimsy strands of story strung between them.
