NICS checks are up… WAY up…
Background checks on the sale of firearms reached record levels during the month of November. Data from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) show a 42 percent increase in November firearm purchaser background checks. A total of 1,529,635 checks — the highest monthly total ever — were reported for the month, up from 1,079,923 in November 2007.
Retailers and firearm manufacturers are enjoying the lack of enthusiasm for Barrack Obama, no question…

Any predictions for Dec. and Jan.? It’ll be kind of interesting to see if this trend continues to go up, and for how long.

you too Crucis, but the primers are an issue- Buddy who benchrest shoots called all over the US and could only get 5000, he normally buys 15-20000 at a time.
Yep, went to a guy store the other day,and selection is getting pretty thin. Heck, the ammo shelf was just about bare.
My fave local shooty store is selling ammo out by the pallet and can’t keep AR’s in stock. Amazing. Too damn bad I don’t have more money.
CS and KVegas- It’s like that everywhere. I friend runs OPS out in Tulsa, he sold $500K worth of ammo in 10 hours at the show (most of it .223), people were literally coming in with hand trucks and loading up. He said he had multiple $5000 plus sales to INDIVIDUALS!!!

I’ve added my rather large mound of 100’s to the pile and it tells me that people are really getting scared about that is to come. In my little town of 986, there have been many calls to me about what type of piece to get and where to buy them. These have been the people who you would expect to be on the end of the “take all guns away” rope! 50 an 60 year old’s who have been raving liberals for their entire life are buying HUNTING LICENSES for the first time in their lives!! People are scared!!
