Threes…

Well, we always hear everything happens in threes, and it’s happened again…

AD gets a deer with his truck, Farm Girl’s engine gives up the ghost, and I get a damn busted windshield… sigh…

That’ll teach me to take a short cut! Two $^&((@ miles from getting back on the Interstate and I get whapped with a lug nut!

How do I know you may ask? Because it left a six sided impression in the windshield! And, scared the crap outta me in the process!!!

I’m back on the road, and $336 dollar poorer, but I wasn’t about to charge my insurance. If I had, I’m sure my rates would have gone up.

FarmFam got AD back on the road today, so the only one with a dead vehicle is Farm Girl, which makes me feel bad, because this is the “thanks” she gets for the outstanding hosting this weekend.

I have to attend a number of pretty high level conferences that are “hosted” by professionals, and in all honesty, FarmFam did a better job than most if not all of the so called pros…

Plus the food was OUTSTANDING, and I now have to go on a diet… dammit…

And I’ve got a butt load of guns to clean, but I don’t mind that a bit! 🙂

  1. Julie- It was worth it in the bigger scheme of things!

Carteach0- Yep, and yes they are!

    Christina- Meeeee toooo 🙂

  2. Glad you had a great time, sorry its over so soon, and pffft on the windshield.

Its Nov 11th and I’d like to say, Thank You for your service to our Great Nation Old NFO, my family and I appreciate all you and your family sacrificed so we could enjoy our freedom. 😉

  3. Thanks for letting me dirty up the Citori, NFO. It was by far the nicest shotgun that I’ve ever fired.

Damnbadluck about the windshield. I’m glad it didn’t penetrate or spall to hurt you.

  4. Windshields are covered by Comprehensive. No risk of increasing premiums usually…

Actually, State Farm tells me that a Deer strike would ALSO be covered under Comprehensive, not Collision and there is no risk of a premium increase there either.

  5. Sorry ’bout the windshield. If’n I’d been thinking I’d invited you to stop by if you went through KC.

Drop a note the next time you pass this way and mebbe we can get together.

  6. Peedee- thanks

Matt- no problem 🙂 And yeah, I’m glad it didn’t spall too! If I’d thought, I’d have taken a picture though… You could see the outline of the nut in the windshield!

New- yeah, ‘supposedly’ but I’m not going to try it.

    Crucis- Will do!

  7. I’m a bit slow on this, but I feel as if we’re old friends. Thank you for your service, sir, and thanks for some great posts on a great blog!!!

I got the same answer from Farmers. I got curious after I almost clipped one in, of all places, a school zone!

PS – I guess Indiana deer are pretty smart…how do they know to cross the street between those little signs?? ;-p

  8. RWL- Appreciate that- Re the insurance, I “know” it shouldn’t impact, but the last time it did, so no chances taken.

Reminds me of the joke about moving the deer crossing sign, because the guy was afraid they would be hit in the curve, so he wanted it moved 500 yards to the straight… sigh…

  9. In case I haven’t told you, NFO, on my list of Good People, you rank right on up there near the top.

You were a lifesaver last weekend, my friend. I will not forget it.
