Rangemasters classes…

I was going to put a post on the training (albeit very short) class we received from Tom Givens from Rangemasters and his folks at the Lucky Gunner/Bullet Fest 11 shoot, but as I read some of the other folks posts, I decided to just link to them as most of them said it much better than I can.

Fill Yer Hands,  Sebastian, MJ Mollenhour, and Robert (sorry I missed that one Robert)  all have a very positive reaction to the training, and I didn’t talk to a single person that didn’t learn/relearn something even in that very short class.  Tom, his wife and the assistant instructors were firm, polite and attentive to all the shooters, taking time to individually correct where necessary, offer suggestions, and ensure the range stayed safe.

Personally I plan to take a ‘real’ class from them, and would highly recommend them to anyone, new shooter to old fart (like me).  Tom’s classes, using the building block approach, are based on years of experience, constantly upgraded based on real world changes, and feedback from prior students who have actually had to use the training.

You will NOT regret it…

  1. I sure wish more people would take experience lessons. Any idea how much a class is? I guess I could google it? I would like to take it with my wife and share the love.

  2. I finally have my Lucky Gunner shoot report posted. There’s pics and a video compilation. If you follow the link back to my YouTube page you’ll find the full length videos.

It was great meeting you at the shoot.

  3. Danny- combative pistol is $400, but they have a couples rate right now 50% off on the second person.

    Robert- Thanks!

Rob- Glad to meet you, and glad you made it back okay!

  4. If you can’t make it to Memphis for a class, Tom does classes at other ranges. We host him at krtraining.com a couple times a year at least.

  5. I’ll say this: There are controversial instructors on this planet (So-and-so isn’t tactical enough/so-and-so is a mall ninja. So-and-so is a stick-in-the-mud/so-and-so is making it up as he goes. Etc.)

Tom Givens is not one of them. I don’t know hardly anybody, from old-school Gunsite types to .mil rock stars, who has a bad word to say about Tom.

  6. Actually life is a rare good class where we can learn everything from. i am not sure whether this article is relative to policy. but i agree that all we should have a lesson from anything!
