Hmmm…

Anybody else see this???

Today, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and several federal, state and local agencies will participate in a scheduled exercise designed to enhance security in the Ohio-West Virginia area. TSA has partnered with local law enforcement to conduct thousands of similar operations from coast to coast. This is a scheduled operation, not related to a specific threat.

Bold italics are mine…  thousands of similar operations???  WTF!

This is from the Marietta Times in Ohio, and another look from INFOWARS.

“In addition to using three helicopters for aerial inspection, the exercise made use of the Ohio Highway Patrol’s camera-equipped Cessna Caravan, which is capable of transmitting close-up, detailed real-time images of objects on the ground taken from more than five miles away,” reports the Charleston Gazette.

And apparently both USCG and National Guard units are participating too!

The exercise seems to be about little more than a show of force by the TSA in light of a massive resistance against their agenda, particularly in Texas where a recent bill that would have banned invasive TSA grope downs almost passed and is set to be up for debate again.
Michael Cleveland, federal security director for TSA operations in West Virginia admitted as much when he said the event was about letting, “people know we’re out here.”

And yet another look from the Charleston Gazette in WV.

TSA has nothing on their website, and THIS is their description of the VIPR teams.

So what is the real goal?  Protection of infrastructure, or is this the “civilian national security force” that Obama was talking about back during the campaign?  Joe Farah at WND picked up on this a long time ago, but it’s never really gone anywhere, nor have any ‘good’ answers come out of the administration (no surprise there)…

Or is this a not so veiled threat to Texas and any other states that are thinking about fighting back???  If you don’t play by ‘OUR’ rules we’ll shut you down, tie up your airports, interstates, and anything else we want to…

On a more personal level, I can’t help but wonder how knowledgeable these folks are on CCW laws in all three states, and what, if any, confrontations have occurred…  Since we know out and out groping is occurring at airports, and that is WITH cameras there; what was/is happening on the side of the road with no cameras around and only you and the TSA VIPR team present???

I honestly don’t have a good answer for any of the questions I’ve asked, but the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up…

Maybe I’m over-reacting, but I’d be interested to know if anyone had any confrontations with these folks today, and how they were handled.

  1. I can’t help but think that armed confrontations are going to increase, rather than decrease, and someone is going to get hurt or killed during these unconstitutional searches.

That line we’re supposed to be waiting to cross seems awfully close, these days.

  2. We just had a huge exercise in the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles last week. Helos everywhere, fast boats in the water, divers, and HUNDREDS of Ninjas running around going “Hut Hut Hut Hut”.
Some were even rappelling down off the docks into small craft. One of the days they had people in what looked like Level 4 HAZMAT suits running around with tongs and collection bags.
Quite humorous, in fact, as these people were so poorly organized they really were running in to each other!
God help us if Something Bad happens….

  3. Rev- I think you’re right… sigh…

    Johnny- Yep!

drjim- Did you have any contact with them, and what was their attitude?

  4. I think you have already seen what can happen in a national crisis when authorities confiscated personal weapons after Katrina. It can happen again.

My question is – Who has overall command and control of all these alphabet agencies? I shudder to think that the TSA may be directing my state’s National Guard troops. It horrifies me to think that a kid that can’t get any other job than as a TSA agent will be given lethal authority. Go study the Stanford Prisoner Experimant and the Milgram Experiment.

  5. After they allow them to unionize, the next steps will be to arm and give arrest powers to these clowns.

  6. PE- that is a great question, and I’m ‘sure’ TSA will say THEY are in charge… Re Stanford and Milgram, I’ve read about both, and I see this one more as a Stanford experiment, due to the direct interaction…

    TOTW- THAT scares me…

  7. My reference to Milgram is based upon my observation through personal experience that TSA agents blindly follow instructions without applying common sense. Thats why that pat down 2 year babies and metally challenged males. If you arm these bozos, they will blindly follow their orders without a thought to their legality. NFO, you know that there is such a thing as an “illegal” order. Do you think that pimply faced kid on the scanner does?

  8. PE- Hadn’t thought about it in THAT light, and you’re right. No they wouldn’t have a CLUE about illegal orders, they will do exactly what they are told…

  9. I’m ignorant as to what TSA does outside of groping airline passengers. Something to look into.

Other than their pretty uniforms, I don’t see anything military about them. The real power is the armed sworn police officers sitting between the screeners and the access points.

You can give them orders, give them weapons, but you can’t give them a warrior mind set. A two man guard mount with fixed bayonets would scatter them like the little ducklings they are.

  10. This from TSAs website.

Today, Federal Air Marshals serve as the primary law enforcement entity within the Transportation Security Administration and are deployed on flights around the world and in the United States. While their primary mission of protecting air passengers and crew has not changed much over the years, Federal Air Marshals have an ever expanding role in homeland security and work closely with other law enforcement agencies to accomplish their mission. Currently, air marshals staff several positions at different organizations such as the National Counterterrorism Center, the National Targeting Center, and on the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces. In addition, they are also distributed among other law enforcement and homeland security liaison assignments during times of heightened alert or special national events.

So, the first question that comes to mind is, is this activity from “Enabling Legislation” or administrative actions?

    Ft. Sumter
    Pearl Harbor

    What will our children remember?
What will our children be taught?

  12. No, I was up on the Command Ship working on the weather radar and just watched them from a “respectful” distance.
They looked like the Keystone Kops, though.

  13. WSF- Both good points…

Stretch- They aren’t being taught in schools… we have to teach them at home…
