Meh…

876 miles, 13 hours, and my butt is draggin… Getting old sucks!

And the idjits were TRULY out today!!!

You two Va Tech idjits in your POS Prius’s,  I hope you ‘like’ the tickets you got for playing the blocking game on I-81, and be glad at least a couple of the truckers in the mile long back up didn’t stop and kick your asses on general principals!!!  55 and blocking BOTH lanes is NOT cool… And the cop was pissed cause he had to come all the way up on the shoulder to pull your dumb asses over…

And the smart ass in the mini-van from New Joisy, too bad you got pissed when I went around you on the right, but when the speed limit is 70 and you’re doing 60 in the left lane and WON’T move your ass over, I’m going around you… And no, your little POS van cannot out accelerate 6.2 liters of Detroit V-8!  So STFU and don’t be stupid (again).

For some reason LOTS of Hawks flying over I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville, some of them quite low. I think I counted around 20 that I could see… Beautiful birds!

Food, bed and do it all over again, in that order… Y’all have a good one!

  1. I do the long-distance commute thing, but at least it’s mostly on lightly traveled highways with speed limits of 75 or higher for much of the way.

Most of the traffic is big rigs, who do not put up with lane blockers. Those ijits may not be bothered when I’m on their bumper, but it’s a different story when a KW rig fills their rearview mirrors.

  2. I once took a picture of a Honda on the PA Turnpike and asked people what was so special about it. They all said it was NJ driver in the right hand lane.

I’m glad I had a camera to capture that rare occurance.

  3. An hour and fifteen minutes every morning & every evening here. Seldom do I get passed on the right, except when some speed demon comes running up from nowhere and cuts me off from getting in the right lane.

Folks on their cellphones piss me off the most. They’ll be doing 80, then 45, then 75 and usually are doing the 75-80 when you could pass them otherwise. I was just ahead of a 60 car pile-up the other day- all started by an idiot woman on her cellphone cutting off an 18 wheeler. She thought she’d make some money off it and called the “One call, that’s all” local ambulance chasing attorney. He wouldn’t even take her case. 😀

  4. 55 on I-81? In BOTH lanes? You know, in that neck of Va., forcing them into the Ditch would only get one a $5 Littering Ticket. Surprised that a Harley Guy didn’t ride his Hog on the Shoulder, pull in front of them, and hit the Brakes. Ooops, So Sorry, Charlie.

  5. Carteach- It was 🙂

    WSF- Ummm… NOT… Nashville Sucks!

Tim- You’re lucky! I left early this morning so I missed all the truck jams on I-30 🙂

    45- Pretty much… sigh

BP- I’ve done the I-20 trip more times than I care to count… sigh… I feel for ya!

Gerry- ALL the @#&( NY and PA drivers along with the Massholes were squatting in the left lane… period.

    Wing- A week from Wednesday 🙂 I’ll call y’all!

Snigs- Agree on the cell phone crap… sigh Glad you missed the wreck, since you just got the car fixed from the LAST ‘incident’…

    Les- Good point…

Andy- I would have, but I was too damn tired.

  6. Is coming up US-29 a viable alternative for you? It parallels 81.
My smarter half and I took that up last month and it was quite enjoyable. And you can fork off onto 28 in Fauquier Co. if you have to drift east.

I’ve seen people do that in Fornicalia. I have a “special” Q-Ship 2007 Toyota RAV4 with the 269-hp V6 that I had secretly chipped (and upgraded) to 300 hp. I can out-pull a Hemi Charger up to about 75 mph.

I’ve had cars perch purposely in the left lane at 55 or 60 on I-80 and stack up traffic pinned in with trucks in the other lanes. I’ve “hole-shot” those assholes with the RAV4 in a vaporous cloud of speed and even had some of them try to catch me so they can pin me again.

    I love my Q-Ship.

  8. Stretch- Thanks, I’ll take a look at that!

BZ- That has to be hilarious! And I’d hope people would learn, but it sounds like they don’t!

  9. It’s migration time for the hawks. You probably were seeing Broadwings, although almost all hawks are moving right now. On Oct. 1, 35,773 were counted flying over Corpus Christi, TX, and that’s not a record! Most of them are coming from the eastern part of the country.
