A couple of things…

And Filthydelphia just gets better and better… Ackerman, the fired (and bought off for $900K) former Schools Chief is now filing for unemployment… Read it and weep HERE!  For my friends that live up there, all I can say is get out while you can…

And a bit of a different take. Pew Research Center Politics Test…

This is a terrific little test. And it shows results in a number of ways. It surely indicates that the majority of Americans don’t know what’s going  on. Interesting and simple test. It’s astonishing that so many people got less than half right.

These results say that 80% of the (voting) public doesn’t have a clue – and that’s pretty scary.

There are no tricks here – just a simple test to see if you are current on your information.

This is quite good and  the results are shocking.

Test your knowledge with 13 questions, then be ready to shudder when you see how others did.

Go HERE for the test, and remember, look at the demographics after you finish…

It’s 13 easy questions, or at least I though so…

A couple of things… — 41 Comments

  1. I’m an 8 percenter. Which I find amazing as I have willfully been avoiding current events and politics lately.

And the demographics are interesting. Age is not as much a factor as gender and education.

  2. 13 of 13.
Maria Bartiromo should be offended at being included among the choices for the identification of Sotomayor.

  3. 13 correct answers. Didn’t seem that tough . . . but you’re right, the demographics of the results are pretty scary!

  4. 12 out of 13. Now I feel like the dumb one in the room. I could have sworn Republicans had a majority in both houses.

  5. Huh. I got 10 right, but the quiz cheated me. I answered the Apple Computers question correctly, but it didn’t acknowledge my answer. So really, I got 11 right. Dude! I’ve been robbed!

  6. All- This just proves whether we read/watch/listen to the news or not, we are still better educated and more aware than a whole bunch of people…

I got all of them, but I ‘cheated’ since I do have to keep up on stuff like this; and quite honestly wondered at the demographics of how ANYBODY could miss more than 2 or 3… I think this really shows how bad our education system has become, and I don’t believe this bodes well for America.

MM- While you only got 10, I think if you truly don’t watch the news, that is still a good score, as you HAVE been educated well…

  7. 13 out of 13 for another 8%er. I read a lot of news online. I almost never “watch” the news. I wonder how the results skew for the Liberal side of life?

  8. 10 of 13 for me. I should’ve recognized the first picture but blanked out. The other two I got wrong because I second guessed myself.

  9. Took it on facebook yesterday, but wasn’t impressed with my perfect score, since I figured the British Prime Minister by killing off the others.

I am old enough not to second guess, the first one is usually right.

Nice quick test, but don’t give me one on who was on Dancing with the Stars.

  10. I got all 13 right. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the one age group (50+) did better overall. That’s probably due to the dumbing down of education.

  11. 13 of 13 as a college student Crucis, so it’s not all education’s fault. i found it interesting that so few people know the current UK Prime Minister. Seemed to be the question people did worst on.

  12. Mikael- Thanks for stopping by, and just proves YOU are better educated than a lot of our folks… sigh…

For the rest, see my earlier comment 🙂 Us old farts DO seem to be leading the pack (so to speak)…

Les- I’m NOT going to say a word 🙂

  13. Well I must have absorbed a little as I also was a 13/13. BUT , when you are trying to differentiate between pigs, err hogs, err swine, err,two of the nine,if was hard to do but but the “smart Latina” floated to the top of the cesspool!

I’m scared about the coming vote if that many people have their heads up their collective asses!!

  14. I haven’t owned a TV in over 15 years, or watched any type of TV in at least two years. I do spend about an hour a day looking at the news online though. (and I’m over 50!) 13 for 13, but it doesn’t do my blood pressure any good staying current, damn it.

    Grumpy Old Badger!

  15. Okay, I’m going to say something that will irritate the other women, but perhaps we SHOULDN’T have been give the right to vote. Did you see the demographic difference between male and female? I was ashamed. (13/13 for me as well.)
    Dangerous Cook

  16. 13/13
    I don’t read the papers
The only TV I watch is the Science Channel, or the History Channel.
I’m only 41, but I grew up reading Heinlein, which definitely warped my outlook compared to the other kids in school!

  17. @Anathema, I wouldn’t rely on what you see on the History Channel as gospel. There’s a strong liberal element there…an on Discovery, TLC, and others. They’re all owned by the same company and that company is not conservative. They also like to “play” a bit with history and their bias can be a bit subtle if you watching closely.

  18. 8%er. As a demographic we, the aged and educated, may win this yet.
    Hope’n’change…I gots it.

  19. 13/13
Which is amazing considering I don’t read the paper or watch t.v. news.
