When my son was a Boy Scout, he was absolutely thrilled to be able to fire rifles at summer camp while he was working on his Rifle Shooting merit badge.
With proper training and supervision, young people with guns is a wonderful thing.
Growing up, Junior Rifleman night was the highlight of my week.
My very first merit badge was the Marksmanship badge. Teaching everyone about safe firearms handling and usage is a lot more beneficial than demonizing inanimate objects………
There is another one around Austin that does the same thing. Good for them. Slowly making firearms normal again.

Yesterday was take your Daughter to the range day.
I teach the Boy Scout Rifle course too. Great times with those young men!
I took my daughter. She is 31 years old but I think it still counts
I live near this range and you are correct, the left-wingers are going berserk on local blogs and forums. Things like saying they will call CPS on the parents of any kid who invites theirs to a party at a gun range, as they are clearly unfit parents.
Fortunately, this is Texas and the small but vocal group of lefties will soon find something else to screech about.
