The draft of the newest Army handbook seems to suggest that ignorance of Afghan culture is to blame for deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces, according to The Wall Street Journal, which got a peek at the 75-page document. But its message of walking on eggshells around the locals is not going over well with U.S. Marine Gen. John Allen, the top military commander in Afghanistan.
“Gen. Allen did not author, nor does he intend to provide, a foreword,” said Col. Tom Collins, a spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan. “He does not approve of its contents.”

This is actually getting WORSE than what we had in Vietnam and THAT set of ROEs was also the result of a democratic administration…
They don’t care how many American military folks die, as long as you don’t piss off the ‘locals’….

The restriction on criticism of pedophilia suggests that the local culture supports it. So we are protecting that with our military there and sending Jerry Sandusky to prison here…why?

The femininazies over here advocate womens rights, and equal pay, and birth control and every thing else… but over there, they would all be in burkas (sp?) not allowed to speak, not allowed to vote, beaten probably twice a day by the husband… but yet we advocate that with the new handbook… I guess its all okay, when its on another continenet and another country..

Isn’t GEN Allen the one who has, over the last ten years or so, made more than one statement, let’s say, “less than politicaly correct”? (What? You want PC? From a Marine?!? If you ask a Marine what “PC” means, he’ll probably tell you it’s the Army acronym for a cover, i.e., “Patrol Cap”. LOL)
