  1. There are two sorts of people in the world:

Trained and untrained. Better to be the former than the latter. Speed is fine. Accuracy is final.

  2. My elder daughter is an Appleseed instructor; meets the coolest people, she said. So if you want to hang with the coolest people … ’nuff said!

  3. LL- Yep!

    Opus- Concur! 🙂

    Rev- Agreed!

Carteach- But “we” are preaching to our choir…

    WSF- Yep

  4. With you 100%. The question is how to get this info out to those folks who aren’t regulars here.

    Any ideas?

  5. Well I just had a young lady go to an NRA trainer/ KY CCW instructor who told her the correct hand position for shooting a pistol was the ye old tea cup method.

He could not explain why her M&P 9Compact kept stove piping. He then told her she should have just bought a revolver from his shop.

I took her to the range and we explained that a pistol needs to have an opposing force to work properly. She’s doing OK again.

I never recommend an instructor I’m not familiar with no matter what paper they have hanging on the wall. My $0.02

  6. I went to an Appleseed a couple of summers ago. Figured I had rifles pretty well licked but it would be fun….

Only had six holes in my first “red coat”.

    Two years on….
I’m a “red hat” instructor looking to become a Shoot Boss.

Appleseed really does bring you together with some amazing folks.

  7. Being one of those people that finally have gotten a gun (though it was planned for Christmas and Before the panic!), I had some training before and will be getting more asap. I’ll join the choir on it being the right thing and the fun thing! Of course, if CT goes as NY…
