I’m getting too old for this…

The after the party party two nights in a row are getting my ‘attention’…

The first night we were real classy…

And yes, good scotch WILL eat waxed paper cups…

And here’s AD in the wild… Scotch and beef jerky!  At least it wasn’t Cheetoes!!!

But damn, it’s fun be able to just sit around in the hotel with good friends, good booze and just chat about life, liberty and the pursuit of what ever happiness happens to be walking by!

And I never cease to be amazed at how ‘quick’ folks are, male/female, sober or not… And the breadth of the conversation(s), that go on and the digressions that come up!

It’s also great to meet new folks (both bloggers and commenters), and get a chance to put names/faces/voices with the folks.  While the commonality is guns, it is truly a diverse group of folks, spanning ages from college to 70+, and a huge variety of jobs, life skills and personalities!

Sadly, folks have to start leaving today as many have to work tomorrow and have either long drives or flights at zero dark-30.

I’m going to trundle back in this morning for a few more hours of the show to try to actually finish seeing the whole floor.

At least last night we ‘upgraded’… Real plastic cups! 🙂

Y’all enjoy a quiet breakfast with family, and enjoy the day!!!

  1. AD has got the pinkie out, so he’s about as gentleman as one could reasonably expect.

  2. I have a bottle of the Mac sitting by my bed for late night sipping. I know you know that Brigid prefers chocolate with hers but we do have to make allowances when we travel.

  3. Scotch and beef jerky ? Be honest now , Kelly lost another bet didn’t he ? LOL

  4. If you are laying on the floor and don’t have to hold on, you’re not really drunk.

Additionally, if you are drinking single malt and not eating pickled eggs, you can’t claim any Scottish blood.

Those are the rules. We all have to live by them.

  5. CP- Nah, we ran out of Macallan… sigh

    Rev/WSF- Everything in moderation… more or less… 🙂

SPE- LOL, kinda sorta for AD…

SOCAL- Yep, we do have to work with what we have!!!

    FD- Nope, he was hungry!

LL- LOL, that was a LONG time ago!

    Brighid- Excellent points!

  6. Not too old to have fun, just wise enough to know how to have quality fun (nice scotch). See, when we were lots younger it hurt more to have fun when you were hitting the cheap stuff.

  7. Mark, to my way of thinking that’s a trip well planned.

  8. Shipmate, Thanks for the “Blow By Blow” of NRA Convention 2013. You done good, and blogged real good making for some good vicarious reading.

My old Maw Poliakon-Issued 20:20 Mark 1 Eyeballs needed refurbishment. I am going in tomorrow to have the second “Bionic” Tecnis Aspheric Model Z9002 lens installed in my “Port Eye.” Soon “I Can See Clearly Now, The Rain Is Gone” will be my new mantra and view of this revolving Blue Marble we all are tap dancing on.

FWIW FYI: Under the Obumster’s Obamacare, Cataract Surgery, which is currently fully-covered and allowed under today’s GFY 2013 Medicare, will no longer be covered or allowed under Medicare starting 1 OCT 2013 (GFY 2014), and neither will treatment for Macular Degeneration. Thank you, Barry (Gag, Choke, Cough-Cough). Obama wants we vintage folks who paid into Medicare since when it started in 1966, to all be blind like all those who voted for him in 2008 & 2012. He wants us “Citizen Monkeys” to SEE NO EVIL. Next for me will be a transition to HEAR NO EVIL with the V.A. “Slow Rolling” me on my aircraft noise and carrier deck operations induced hearing loss claim that has been “cooking” in the V.A. bureaucracy for five years. Add to this that the Obumster & his SECDEF Henchman Hagel will begin Means Testing today’s “NO COST” TRICARE For Life, and will be charging us Lifers a percentage of our monthly pay (not a fixed fee) for TFL. I guess “Richer” Lifers get “Sicker” than “Poorer” Lifers. Isn’t FREEBIE SOCIALISM GREAT!

    Have A Great Navy Day!

  9. Six- It was!

Mark- Sorry bout that… But at least nobody drank and drove!

    SOCAL- LOL

Joe- Thanks and good luck with the surgery!

  10. I was weaned on Laphroaig (pronounced La Froy) Single Malt Whisky in a small Fort William hotel on the banks of Loch Linnhe back in the early 1980’s. Great stuff. I never was much of a whisky drinker, but single malt scotch is the way to go.
