The best way to say thank you to those who have laid it all on the altar of freedom is to carry on for what they stood for.
Exactly!
LL +1.
It STILL cheeses me off that so many folks just think of this as a ‘holiday’ to ‘get away’!
Even many local newsreaders say ‘Happy Memorial Day!’ as a sign-off.
Disgraceful!
LL- Tryin…
Guffaw- Agree!
Too many of us have too many friends who didn’t make it home. +1 to what LL said.
+1 on LL, We must not lose our Republic.
Another +1 for LL.
+1 LL
All- Thanks, and yes LL nailed it.
I’m all in with Guffaw and his sentiments. I got signed up in the AL Post #36 here on the Island the same day I retired from Uncle Sam’a Canoe Club! Post Commander came hunting me. We do something for every Memorial Day, flags on Graves, etc.. But I never thought of it as a “Happy” day. More solemn and reflective should be the norm. Have a nice day of reflection everyone.
