Gun production up again…

Bo won salesman of the year again…

In 2012 (the last complete year of reporting), 8.57 million guns were produced with Ruger and S&W leading the pack…

Total during BO’s first four years roughly 26 million, more than in the ENTIRE 8 years of W’s term…

And the ‘smart’ pistol is going on sale in Kalifornia soon…

The Smart System iP1, a .22-caliber pistol made by the German gun-maker Armatix GmbH, can only function with an accompanying wristwatch, which is sold separately.

So for $1798, (or three times the cost of a 9mm Glock), you can get a .22 cal gun that depends on you wearing a fugly watch, and hoping the batteries never die…

Gun production up again… — 13 Comments

  1. Hey Old NFO;

Yep I’m gonna pass on the smart technology. I am old school, I want my guns to go “bang” when I squeeze the trigger…not think about it first.

  2. “Smart” gun technology is 3d printing.
    Oh, they don’t like that.
Now if they could just ramp up ammo production to match.

  3. Yep, and next the sweet loving government will put GPS into the watch with an accompanying kill switch, “just in case”. No thank you on the so-called smart gun as well.

  4. It has a 10% failure rate. I hope when I need it, it’s not on the tenth round.

I can buy, from my distributor, 4 Glock 19 police turn ins and have money left over to feed all four.

  5. Pity the poor folks in California. Their legislators have imposed such B.S. requirements on new guns. So the manufacturers have a limited number of options. They can implement unstable (“smart gun”) or impractical (micro-stamping) technologies as you’ve described, driving the cost of the weapon up astronomically, driving reliability down the toilet, and providing no benefits to the owners.
    OR
The manufacturers can decide not to meet the State’s requirements and withdraw from selling weapons to state residents (but still selling to Police and other agencies).
Either way, the legitimate residents lose, and gun control is indirectly, rather than directly, imposed.

  6. WSF- Yep!

    Ed- Good point!

Opus- Probably… Can’t shoot without police permission… sigh

    Robert/Rev- True!

WN- Agreed, de facto gun banning in progress…

  7. In the article a smart ass in Silicon Vally says they want to make people that do not use smart guns feel like a dinosaur. I am a dinosaur and proud of it.I do not want my life depending on a smart gun.

  8. So I guess the Magna Trigger really didn’t win any converts, or is this supposed to be a better mousetrap ?

  9. What Rick Street said; I’m old school, I want good guys to go home at night and bad guys to go to the morgue.
A friend of Colonel Jeff Cooper said once the scariest sound in the world is a “click” when you expect a “bang!”
If these guns are so great, why aren’t they going to the PD’s? Such a gun would have helped my uncle in 1970 when he got into that fight and lost control of his pistol. He could have retired with a full PD pension instead of the puny K-mart one, and maybe his wife would not have divorced him. Then his kids would not have had to put up with his second wife and her sainted son.

    It’s for the children!
