Zaps…

For those that may not be familiar with the term… Zaps are military stickers from squadrons that may or ‘may not’ be politically correct… 🙂

Now the ‘nice’ zaps tend to end up in places where the public can see them…

These are examples of the ‘nice’ versions They’re usually three/four inches in size…

These however…

Are NOT PC, and usually end up on/in places only other military will see… And sometimes they even end up in ‘other’ squadron’s airplanes in ‘strange’ places… 🙂

And they’re normally an inch to inch and a half, and come on rolls…

There ya go Dammit… you’re answer. 🙂

  1. Jane Fonda Urinal Stickers FTW!
    And little green feetprints everywhere…

  2. Some SpecWar formations have similar. Most are uber politically incorrect and bring down the wrath of those timid souls outside of the community who are charged with policing EEO and culturally sensitive issues.

Referring to our opponents as “sand negroes” (I cleaned it up) or “dune coons” offends both the opponents, who are Muslims (a protected faith in the US these days) and ethnic groups (also protected species) who have traction within the US Military EEO structure.

I will not go further except to suggest that tagging other units and causing them embarrassment during inspections from without the community can bring hours of amusement at the pub where the challenge coins sometimes go back to special gold coins that were minted in Laos.

  3. WN- LOL

LL- Ah yes, I remember those from the FIRST go round… and no, we’d NEVER embarrass another unit… nope… never… 😀

    Dammit- You’re welcome!

  4. Didja ever see an “Installed By GEEIA” zap in yer travels? There was a time… specifically in the mid-’60s to the mid-’70s… where every joint frequented by the military on the Pacific Rim, from the lowest beer-bar to crystal palace hotels (and various other “entertainment” emporiums), sported at least one of those stickies. I placed a few of ’em myself, truth be told.

  5. Where in the world did you get the Toowoomba zap?
I have one of their caps, and the qual. badge from their weapons officer. Picked them up at an ANZAC party in Toowoomba, several years ago.

  6. What’s non-PC with the Flight 5 dog zap?

Looks perfectly acceptable to me, but then I’m a civvie…..

  7. WSF- Oh yeah… 🙂

Buck- Actually I DO remember seeing those in a couple of places… Okinawa among others… :-0

Skul- I’m in the ‘area’ so to speak… 😀

    drjim- Humping Dogs… That’s the ‘unofficial’ one…

  8. Will neither confirm nor deny that WETSU showed up on at least one ‘official’ unit patch………….;-)
