Back to the WWII recruiting posters.  An Army one from 1940…

This one was done prior to the war, and was actually done by Major Tom Woodburn who was the editor and art director for Recruiting News (an Army publication I believe).

According to what I could find out, this one was also made into a billboard and distributed pretty widely…

    Sorry, don’t mean to go off on a rant here. Really do enjoy the posters, its just sad when you realize how much has just been pissed away since that time. Reagan was right:

    Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.
