Happy Birthday…

To the US Army, 239 years old today…

An interesting ceremony is the cake cutting done by the respective services, it always includes the oldest/longest serving member and the youngest member at each installation that does it.

Army 239th

And today is also Flag day.  Yours is flying, right???

flag-dayIt’s only 237 years old… And more under fire now that ever before, IMHO…

  1. Got the flag out waving today. The local Boy Scouts provide the service on holidays to earn money for camp. It’s a win-win.

  2. Flag’s a-flyin’ … and every time I see it, these days, I wonder how long it’ll last.

Never had that feeling before; it used to bring a lump in my throat, when I was on active duty.

  3. I fly the national standard above and the Navy Jack below.

Can’t help it being a Navy man and loving the statement that it makes.

  4. Tough times ahead for the Army, but it will survive. Those occupying the seats of power will do well to remember, this is not the Praetorian Guard, it is the citizen’s Army.

  5. I’ve got two national flags out, and a star-spangled fan-fold of BUNTING on the deck! 🙂 Yay! County Fair today! Where do I put the Gadsden flag?

  6. All- Thanks! Fly it with pride that at least ‘WE’ still have.

    Posted from my iPhone.

  7. Congratulations U. S. Army, and Happy Birthday.
I always keep Old Glory flying.
