Book Review, The Future of the Gun…

The Future of the Gun- By Frank Miniter

Minter future of the gun

I was asked to review this book, and finished it last night.  Frank Miniter did an EXCELLENT job with this one.  Researched, documented, peppered with historical facts and interviews with a variety of known and unknown folks, this book really breaks down why the gun banners will fail.

He details the role that guns have played in our history, and where we are going forward.  He doesn’t sugarcoat any of the information, he just presents facts and lets the chip(s) fall where they may.

Highly recommended, especially the 13 pages of notes and references!!!

FCC- Regnery did send me a copy of the book to review, and I will be paying for it, so there…

  1. Excellent! My local library has two copies and I’m on the list for one of them.

  2. Roger- I didn’t read it all in one sitting, but I did do it in two. He does a great job fisking a lot of the myths too!

    Euripides- I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

  3. Elderly Naval Flying Officer;
Sadly the local library does NOT have any copies of YOUR book, in spite of having been asked to do so.
Liberal fools that run Broward county.

  4. Keads- You’re welcome.

Roger- Send me an email with your addy, and I’ll send you one.

  5. Keads- You’re welcome

Roger- send me an email with your address and I’ll send you a copy.

  6. I will be on the lookout for that. BTW, I finally got the Nook version up for my book. Thanks again for the nice review!

  7. I broke down & bought the book on Amazon.
I promise that when I am done reading it twice,
I will take it to my place of employment, (a large municipal range) & force all my friends, the range officers & other local bangers, black powder smokers, long range dreamers etc. to read the book & pass it on to their friends. :-^
Thank you kindly for the offer of a free book, I have shamed myself into the purchase.

  8. Roger- No I don’t do paypal.

    Brigid- Yea!!! 🙂

Roger- Dammit, I didn’t mean for you to do that! Send me your address and I’ll send you an autographed copy! Please…

  9. Almost finished with the dead tree version.
So much that I did not know!
Been a gunny since I invented dirt and there is a ton of info in this book.
    Thanks Bro!

  10. At $15.49 it is a bit steep for the Kindle version. It’s on the wish list and someday I will get it.

I wonder why the hard copy is $17.70 and the Kindle is still so expensive (something I have found with a lot of books.) Gee whiz, it is pretty cheap to move electrons around rather than dead trees!
