In Memoriam… — 13 Comments

  1. It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

    George S. Patton

  2. The pic with the eagle is in Ft Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota. Not far from where it is perched is a memorial tomb stone for one of the Lost 74 from my ship, SA Michael Orlikowski. May God have mercy on their souls.

  3. Rev- Yep.

    Rick- Amen is right.

    CP- I think you sent me that picture, but it’s appropriate for the day. May they ALL rest in peace.

  4. The only thanks worth giving is a resolution to insure that they did not die in vain.

  5. “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
    Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
    At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.”

    The Ode from For the Fallen, by the English poet and writer Laurence Binyon
