It’s done…

Signed my life away again…

The bank and I now ‘own’ this place… Well, the bank owns it, and I’m paying for it…

Final move to Texas will be in December, and I’ll finally have some dedicated time to write.

And a nice little patio to kick back on, and ‘refresh’ myself after a hard day on the computer… πŸ™‚

Now comes the ‘fun’ part… Changing all the @#$&%^ utilities over, getting ‘stuff’ moved from various places out here. Β And I have to go back to work on Monday…

Sigh… Thank God for friends! πŸ™‚

Sorry for the lack of reading/posting on folks pages, I promise I’ll be back!!!

  1. The place looks nice, just curious as to what the hatch is that is near the glass doors. If it had vents I would suspect flying monkey storage, but I’m not really sure.

  2. Looks nice, and now you’ve got a good incentive to get the next Grey Man book out and selling;)

  3. Moving: the art of loosing 10% of things you own and discovering you have 20% more stuff than you thought you had.

  4. I’m looking forward to a visit once you’re all settled in…you did say that there is a range just down the street?

  5. Good Job!
    Looks like a fine home!
Better to move in December than July, my last one…

  6. Congrats on the new place! Looks like the perfect retreat from which to continue the Gray Man saga. πŸ™‚

  7. Welcome to Texas. Your Dallas/Fort Worth fan base wishes you a painless move and requests you drop us a line when you get settled so we can give you a proper welcome.

  8. Welcome home. Where abouts did y’all settle? Texas, I know, but that’s a large spot on the map.

  9. Texas’ gain is Virginia’s loss. I’m truly happy for you but will sure miss gun shows with you and having you come shooting.

  10. What Daddy Hawk said. My wife and I are moving to DFW area first of next month. Three grown kids all live in DFW area as well. All of us born, raised, and lived in California. Now is people’s republic of. Time to go.

  11. Welcome to Texas! Our gain, their loss. If you’re moving to San Antonio (or visiting down here), drop me a line and I’ll introduce you to a private gun club in the city limits…complete with pistol, rifle and shotgun ranges. I hope you come to love Texas as much as I do!

  12. Hey Old NFO;

    Congratulations!!, House looks very nice

You got enough room to host a blog meet?

  13. Welcome Home, neighbor!

I sure hope everything goes smooth for you. I also hope you have a spot that real Texans inhabit. It’s better for everyone there.

  14. I like it. And I hope you really enjoy your new life and not miss all the airports. The only seat time now is in front of the computer or TV. Happy for you my friend.

  15. All- Thanks for the comments, and John, it’s a firewood storage. I’m about 2 hours NW of Dallas, so about 6 hours from you Paw.

    Posted from my iPhone.

  16. Congrats for sure! It’s about time you got back in God’s country South. Really happy for you!

  17. Wow. When the heck did you havebtime to go house hunting?

  18. Cool. It looks like there’s a little door on the back side of the chimney for scooping ashes out. We had one when I was a kid. Dad thought it was quite clever. I hope you enjoy Texas. I’ve spent about as much time there as I have anywhere else. It’s home.

  19. thats a really purdy house. I love the porches. We feel your pain about the long distance moving. are you doing it yourself or hired a company? All my cousins live in San Antonio area, then my brother in law is from Texas, all his family is still there and live all over the state.
We hope you enjoy it and congratulations.

  20. Congrats, I figured you were somewhere west of Dallas from what I could see. I was guessing Abilene.

  21. Congrats sir. Enjoy your leisure time. I was guessing west of Dallas near Abilene from what i could see in your pics.

  22. Nice landing pad, but where’s the cattle? πŸ™‚ Gotta get the bank loan while you still have a working job, unless you have cash, congrats on Texas.
