Twilight Zone…

I’m really beginning to think we are there…

unnamed-2

And it the O.M.G. category, imagine looking out the open door of your puddle jumper and seeing this…  unnamed-3

Two questions come immediately to mind… What caliber for snakes on MY plane, and how the hell did you miss that on preflight??? And how to I shoot it and not hit the tire… Decisions, decisions…

Twilight Zone… — 22 Comments

  1. Twilight Zone: And when the only candidate running is black, the liberal establishment attacks him for not being an entitlement sucking fraud.

  2. LL- Yep!!!

Ed- Oh yeah, but that is an airplane!!! 🙂

gfa- in humor, yes… In real life, not so much… Although there are rumors about a crate of snakes getting loose on either FEDEX, UPS or DHL a few years ago… 🙂

  3. Don’t know about the Twilight Zone but seems real. Snake? Unless he tries to climb into the cockpit leave him alone. Of course, you might want to make a quick precautionary landing.

  4. Rod was a visonary? who’da thunk it. 😉

I’ll suggest a .410 with #2 shot for the snake, at 1 to 2 feet range from the end of the barrel to the tire, the shot won’t have spread much.

  5. Looks like something from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

  6. That’s not a plane, that’s a Piper Super Cub (truck, first flight, do anything, anywhere) plane. The widow is open and the snakes head is only four feet away.

  7. I can guarantee someone won’t walk away from that landing.

  8. Well, if you can’t shoot him without damaging the aircraft, and you return to home base without him dropping off, imagine the story he is going to have for his buddies. And maybe the snake really needs that little leather helmet and white scarf from your granddaughter’s Barbie.

  9. WSF- Yep, and I ‘think’ I’d bounce it in… 🙂

    Grog- Good points on both!!

    6shots- LOL

Ed- Well, for ‘some’ definitions of plane… 🙂

    JMI- LOL, true… slither?

John- ROTF, yeah go right ahead and give him that… 😀

  10. Turn left, pull back hard, full power, maintain 2Gs turn.

Alternate is cut power, pull back, pull back, when it talls drop the nose and recover, try to not max the G load on recovery so you don’t get a second stall.

If all else fails, a touch and go.

personally it looks shopped. Even at cub speed his nose is in a 60 mph wind.

    Eck!

  11. I’d say just land. Mr. Snake may well end up under the wheel. If not, there’s plenty of time to shoot after landing. Seriously, we have enough snakes in Texas that it shouldn’t be much fuss over just one. 🙂

One of my colleagues lived on the west side of San Antonio and found on her front step when returning home one evening!

Of course, if you took care of him in flight, I think you’d have to holler: “I’m tired of these mellowfarming snakes on this mellowfarming plane!” before opening fire. Like one of the earlier posters, I’d suggest a .410 with small shot. ‘Long as he isn’t coiled, he can’t strike very far.

  12. Eck- That step is on the back right gear strut, so the snake is trailing aft. And I didn’t think about pulling G’s… 🙂

    Bob G- LOL, agreed!

Ed- Dunno, but I want ‘my’ USA back…

  13. Twilight Zone: I too feel as though I’m living in the TZ. It’s not America anymore as far as I’m concerned. I’ve quit flying the Flag until Turd Boy is out of office.
Snake: That appears to be a Prairie Rattler. Hope you didn’t kill it. I like snakes, they’re very beneficial. I know, I’m weird. 🙂 I live in SE Georgia and we have a lot of rattlesnakes.
I do all my flying on the ground on two-wheels. Keeps me on the right side of sanity many days.
Hope your day is blessed. ~:)

  14. At that range, whatever you normally carry while flying should work just fine. Be careful not to hit the tire, unless you are carrying a very small shot load. It looks like the backstop is pretty wide open. Over a populated area, I might hesitate to shoot it. The most likely guns I might have in that situation would be one of my carry pistols or the AR7. Either should work.

  15. Great…..It’s bad enough to have snakes crawling around on the ground, now I have to worry about them falling from the sky!

  16. Sparky- I don’t know what the did… And agree on the sanity!

    FR- Good point!

    Rick- Don’t look up!!! 🙂
